4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is now in 1st grade. He had Ms. Francis for kindergarten and she was awesome. I hope my younger son gets her when he’s 5 in a couple years. First grade has just started and he has two teachers. Ms Vico and Mrs Steiner. He just started, but he seems to really love them as well. The teachers, principal and counselors all seem to be focused in creating a fun, safe and engaging school environment at Rio Rosales. My son also attended a summer program sponsored by the Boys and Girls club this past summer and he also thoroughly enjoyed that as well. Great stuff and lots of fun for kids with high energy. Such a great way for the kids to get to know each other better and have a safe place to play and have fun. I’m honestly surprised that the test scores aren’t higher than they are at this school, but learning is equal part classroom learning and at home parenting. After watching Ms Francis teach on the computer for the better part of last year due to covid, I can surely attest she’s a phenomenal teacher w/ an amazing attitude and just an all around amazing teacher. She makes learning fun, has amazing patience and great at controlling chaos that come with a roomful of kindergarteners. I feel schools and their leaders make or break a community and Rio Rosales is definitely a shining star and cornerstone piece to the East Village neighborhood. I hope the new High School they are building next to it will promote the same culture and environment for our youth and future leaders. I give the culture, caring, engagement and fun learning environment of Rio Rosales Elementary an A+.Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 540 Paseo Margarita.

"None that I know of and don’t think there is much of anything at least r or that I know of . Not really a fan of the area. Too many people crammed in the space. Not what I am used to at all. But it’s a place to live so I am thankful for that. "

"We are about a 5-8 min drive from downtown and City of Oxnard City Hall. About a 2 min drive from Camino Del Sol park. There is a green belt path through part of the neighborhood that makes for a good walk."

"Nice but some riff raff and loud cars on our street. Our packages get stolen often as well. However lots of nice walking areas and convenient near shopping and the hospital"

"Great accommodations, great location. Close to anything you can think of in this beautiful city. A quick cab ride to business or if you prefer take a bus, and for those of you that commute to work you’re 5 minutes or less to the freeway yet far enough not to hear the traffic as you get ready to commute to Santa Barbara or Santa Monica beaches. After arriving home from work why not take a relaxing and pleasant stroll at the East Village Park. The new 6 acre park, under Construction, is located right next to the new Rio Rosales Middle School. Amenities will include but will not be limited to tennis courts, basketball courts, a rubberized running track around the park; concrete walkways and curbs throughout; a playground with two distinct age groups of equipment; exercise equipment area; a prefabricated restroom building; picnic areas with tables and barbecues; installation of fixtures such as trash cans~ bike racks and bollards; landscape and irrigation system and plantings; safety lighting and fencing around the park area and a park Monument sign . By the way if you get a chance to chat with your neighbor, by all means do it. Great people! And if that’s not enough then there is The Collection at RiverPark, an outdoor shopping center located east of the 101 Freeway and 5 minutes from the general area, The mall's notable feature is a Century 16 movie theater, Whole Foods Market, H&M, and several restaurants. Retailers include White House Black Market, Jos A. Bank, H&M, Chicos, Color Me Mine and REI. Restaurants include Yard House, Famous Dave's BBQ, Settebello Pizzeria Napolentana, Kabuki Japanese Restaurant, Gen Korean BBQ, Panera Bread, Five Guys, Starbucks, and Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill. The center is located within the RiverPark subdivision of Oxnard. A totally comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable location."
