4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI don't even know where to start with this horrible school. I've heard many of the anglo teachers make derogatory comments, about the mostly latin student population, on more than one occasion. This year's (2013/2014) second/third grade teacher acted in a heinous manner towards my child. Making her eat last on purpose during their Halloween Party. Then adding insult to injury by treating her like a personal maid and having her toss a random piece of trash before she was allowed to serve herself. What's worse is that the principal is 100% biased and does absolutely nothing to help. I've caught the Principal acting very heinous herself, towards one of the "troubled" kids when she thought no one was looking. The staff is constantly disrespecting my daughter by misspelling her name all around the school. I have proof of that. Someone please investigate this place.Parent Review9y ago - Ocean View Junior High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe counseling staff leaves a lot to be desired... My daughter was a transfer student from another school in San Diego County and you would have thought she was coming from another country. Since CIHS did not currently have some of the classes she took, they completely discounted them and dropped them to a lower "equivalent." I had to fight to get them rated correctly on her transcript. Thank god for the SLO. I have very little good to say about this school and am thankful that I will not have t send my son here. A good thing about the school? Some of the teachers my daughter has are challenging and caring individuals. So I guess that perhaps my issues are with the administration and counselors.Parent Review12y ago - Check out schools near 3481 Siesta Way #3481.

"Actually, I don't know, but I can accept everything new.Life always needs a lot of unknowns to be more exciting. All I care about is that I am comfortable, and nothing else matters. It would be better if someone could treat it kindly."

"None that I know of and don’t think there is much of anything at least r or that I know of . Not really a fan of the area. Too many people crammed in the space. Not what I am used to at all. But it’s a place to live so I am thankful for that. "

"We've lived in this neighborhood since 2003. close to everything you might want or need. Great restaurants in the area with every kind of food imaginable. Close to Ventura and Port Hueneme beaches. 35 min to Santa Barbara and 40 to the San Fernando Valley. Weather is near perfect year round. Traffic is increasing from what it used to be, but the tradeoff is close shopping and entertainment. We love this area. "

"West Village is very much North Oxnard’s diamond in the rough, especially the Villa Santa Cruz portion! It comes off as a quiet, private, respectful, supportive, and inviting area of Oxnard to settle down in. Every night you see diverse, friendly neighbors out walking their dogs or exercising. Most families we know living in the area have older kids or grown families, although there are a handful with young ones. Most neighbors are respectful of each other and aren’t too loud, I’d assume this is due to a lack of renters as most living here are property owners? Most homes don't have any bars on their windows or obnoxious fencing up as violent crime is not common for this area. There are tree lined streets, roundabouts to keep speeders to a minimum, and nearby schools with playgrounds and parks. Freeway access is nearby along with an excellent array of shopping including eateries, grocery stores and supermarkets, gas stations, coffee shops (for you caffeine addicts), hospital and medical buildings, etc. Most of this is within healthy walking distance from West "
