Assigned Schools
These are the assigned schools for 518 Calle Montecito #93.
- El Camino High School
- 9-12
- Public
- 2827 Students
7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe OUSD district and administrators of El Camino are not providing appropriate supports for students with severe autism and behavioral challenges. The special ed department on campus is not equipped with adequate infrastructure, amenities, or adaptive tools. The psychology department has not directly engaged non-verbal students as they would verbal students that reach out for their support. They do not seem to have the will to suggest behaviorally trained staff be hired and work in the classrooms to support teachers or students.Gates are left wide open during school hours even though they describe themselves as a "closed campus" which is a misnomer. This practice is in place regardless of documented safety incidents that have occurred on campus and in the nearby neighborhoods. This ranges from weapons being brought onto campus and special ed students eloping and experiencing mental health crises on campus. The principal has prioritized delivery trucks (there for the students) maintaining ease of access and not having the will to have security teams open and close the gates for such deliveries. OUSD District representatives including Saul Watson (Interim Coordinator of Student and Family Services) and Erin Wade (Special Ed Coordinator) have remained silent on the open-gate issue even when notified about the practice. If you have an overachieving student that has strong independent skills and is self motivated then this school will provide adequate opportunities. We have had 3 students attend this high school.Parent Review1y ago - Libby Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLibby Elementary is a hidden gem with students who are happy and eager to learn. Administrators are very caring and nurturing toward the students and staff. The school principal and assistant principal go above and beyond to reach the kid's needs, whatever they might be. Fun fact, there is a food forest and over 20 garden beds. One can tell that the social-emotional learning of students is a key component to Libby's success. Teachers are passionate about their careers and bring years of experience to the classroom. Those who serve the school in a non-teaching role seem to enjoy what they do. High expectations for a well-rounded education are key and evident at Libby. As a proud teacher, I am aware of my student's needs in order to succeed. It is an honor to teach at Libby Elementary.Teacher Review1y ago - Cesar Chavez Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a current 7th grader here, I like this school a lot, but there is a lot of bullying, and the staff is not doing much about it. The staff is very friendly, as well as MOST of the teachers (some are very strict and nobody likes them). Many of the students vape which is obviously not allowed. If they get caught, they only get a one to two-day suspension. Most of the rules in the student handbook are broken. There is an AVID program which is very helpful, but there is a lot of work. Overall, I recommend this school because there are great learning opportunities. Go Cougars!Student Review10mo ago - Check out schools near 518 Calle Montecito #93.

"It’s quite small and centered between route 210, Waldorf, and National Harbor. Most living here are families with good jobs. Also it has become an area with steady growth in the surrounding commercial zoning locations due to the increase in residential property development. It’s a budding location with a lot of potential to offer its current and future residents."

"The downtown area is among the best including the bars, restaurants and local shops. The Plant Street market and Crooked Can brewery are great hangouts. The city creates fantastic holiday and seasonal celebrations in DTWG. And the surrounding neighborhoods are all connected by a golf cart district."

"Best place to live in DC. It’s a beautiful neighborhood that is urban but not downtown. It’s all about the park and trail, tons of restaurants, things to do, grocery stores, markets, bar. Has its own metro in easy walking distance and a trail that connect you to the east side of the city. "

"NoMa Bid has been creating a huge sense of community in Eckington and NoMa. For one they keep the area so clean and you always see their workers sweeping the sidewalks, changing trashing, maintenance at the dog park. And then there’s the events, most at the A.T. Park and the MBTrail. Movie in the park, farmers market, holiday events like pumpkin patch/contest, and of course the mural walls festival. The trail and park have beautiful murals everywhere and each year local artist renew most of them. (NoMa in Color). Also the dog parks is a big vibe in the area, Eckington Dog Park is the best in the city, but there are 4 in the area. Also, Bouldering Project is a cool bouldering and fitness gym. Theres tons of grocery, restaurants, bars and beer gardens, etc. it’s surround by Union Market, Brookland, Shaw, H Street… all connect my the MBT (bike/walk trail) and NoMa/Gallaudet Metro Station (subway).
