5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have three children in this school and have been apart of the school's community for 5 years and counting. Initially, I was a bit leery of sending my son to the school because of their state test scores, however, I quickly learned the school's value does not lie in its test scores but rather in the staff's commitment to providing a safe, caring environment where students can thrive. From the time students arrive at the front door to the time they leave the campus, they are supported physically, mentally and emotionally. In the morning, staff stand outside and escort students from their cars into the school making sure to greet the parents and the students alike. Once inside, students have the choice to eat breakfast or socialize or both in the cafeteria. Staff, from the principle to teachers to support staff, set expectations for behavior while holding both students and parents accountable for their actions. Academically, teachers work to support students' needs and celebrate their achievements.Students are routinely assessed to determine their academic strengths and weaknesses in an effort to address and correct deficiencies while also looking for ways to challenge bright minds. Last year, additional math and English workshops were provided to students during the school day to strengthen students' foundational skills in those particular subjects. Students regularly visit the library and computer lab where they build their technological skills. Overall, this is school has been a gem for our family. Our boys love going to school and have very few worries while there, other than having the occasional kid disagreement on the playground. They have gained and are gaining new skills in the afterschool program as well.Pros:Small schoolStudent's receive personal attentionFamily environment -- many sibling groupsCaring staffLow staff turn overSafe locationSupport for students with disabilitiesDiverse student bodyOpportunity for growthCons:Lacks an official program for advanced studentsParent engagement could be betterParent Review8mo ago - Montera Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageKids here tend to be extremely ableist and vape in the bathrooms. It is not a good school. Counselors aren't trustworthy in the slightest and tell anyone about your issues. This school is one where it is easy to be bullied for something small and you'll be tormented for that for the rest of the school year.Other Review7mo ago - Skyline High School
