10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt saddens me to read the negative reviews. My review is not fake as I have had 2 children go through the Oak Park School system and I am nothing but thrilled. Parents now want to hand over their children and not be proactive. It takes a village to help a child grow and learn. If you don't put yourself out there and get involved, then you will write negative reviews. At Oak Park you have the opportunity to be fully involved in the school. The education was amazing, the students loving and thoughtful. The teachers and staff have been supportive and uplifting. Please don't listen to the horrible rantings and reviews and make your own decision. Of course, they are not perfect but the harsh criticism I have read below I personally have not seen or witnessed.Parent Review7mo ago - Medea Creek Middle School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter was accepted into this school through "District of Choice", and it has been the best decision we have made. She would have gone to Hale Charter Magnet program in Woodland Hills, but this is a way superior school. The teachers are amazing and some more strict than others about the rules but that teaches children to be respectful and ready for High School. To be honest there is a lot of homework, but my daughter surprising comes home every day and does her work right away. I have spoken to other parents, and they say the same, they are so surprised. We are so happy to be at Medea Creek because they are not just worried about the educational part of what your child is getting but they care about the whole child...socially and emotionally.Parent Review1mo ago - Oak Hills Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe pulled our child out during the summer before her 3rd grade year. She started at Oak Hills in Kindergarten. Her first and second grade teachers were great. They were both effective at teaching the material, had good classroommanagement skills, and were warm and approachable with both the kids and parents. Her kindergarten teacher, on the other hand, was unkind and generally unfit (temperament-wise) for teaching such young children. Overall, we found that the school did not meet our child’s needs and our family’s standards for whole child learning. We think that the school as a whole has a culture that lacks depth when it comes to nurturing the social/emotional needs of its students. This became clear after kids came back to on-campus learning after the pandemic, many of whom needed extra support. Academically, this school stands out. There’s no doubt about that. Unfortunately, there is little to no art/music and quite honestly it just wasn’t a very fun place to be, at least for our child. We’ve moved on to a school that doesn’t perform quite as well academically, but the trade off is the deep commitment they have to educating the whole child - not just in principle, but in practice. Parents are treated like collaborators, art and music are valued and taught year round, and the energy on the campus feels like childhood at its best. Oak Hills works well for many families, but our experience there did not live up to our expectations.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 5019 Wagner Way.
