8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCDM HS is a very good school. I had four children graduate from CDM HS over the last 15 yrs. CDM HS is unique in that it offers excellence in many areas. The academics are very strong and offers kids wanting to get a good preparation for college and be competitive to enroll at top schools the opportunity to do so. The athletics programs are shocking good despite being a smaller HS with many student athletes earning D1 scholarships. The performance arts department is exceptional with an outstanding venue and well supported. This school offers every student the opportunity to succeed but not all take advantage. In my opinion the real negative issues concerning CDM HS center around the parents with over inflated opinions of their self entitled children. This is really a manifestation of living in Newport Beach. Newport Beach can be a very competitive environment with many falling prey to comparisons of successes. The HS reflects this characteristic as a microcosum of the area which can seem harsh and unfair to teenagers.Sometimes it can seem harsh to adults. If you have a particular sensitive child and you can afford to live in the area, you should probably consider a smaller private school. If your your child can work hard and take advantage of all this school has to offer, I don't think you or your child will be disappointed.Parent Review2y ago - Newport Coast Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNCE is best public school with so many things to offer. Our first son just graduated and transferred to CDM and our fifth grader absolutely loves it. The teachers all have been amazing and very understanding and supportive. The level of education is better than other private schools around here that our friends sends their kids to. We couldn’t be more pleased. Most parents are so wonderful and we have made many friends that have become like family to us.Parent Review5mo ago - Check out schools near 54 Coral Reef.

"It’s quite small and centered between route 210, Waldorf, and National Harbor. Most living here are families with good jobs. Also it has become an area with steady growth in the surrounding commercial zoning locations due to the increase in residential property development. It’s a budding location with a lot of potential to offer its current and future residents."

"NoMa Bid has been creating a huge sense of community in Eckington and NoMa. For one they keep the area so clean and you always see their workers sweeping the sidewalks, changing trashing, maintenance at the dog park. And then there’s the events, most at the A.T. Park and the MBTrail. Movie in the park, farmers market, holiday events like pumpkin patch/contest, and of course the mural walls festival. The trail and park have beautiful murals everywhere and each year local artist renew most of them. (NoMa in Color). Also the dog parks is a big vibe in the area, Eckington Dog Park is the best in the city, but there are 4 in the area. Also, Bouldering Project is a cool bouldering and fitness gym. Theres tons of grocery, restaurants, bars and beer gardens, etc. it’s surround by Union Market, Brookland, Shaw, H Street… all connect my the MBT (bike/walk trail) and NoMa/Gallaudet Metro Station (subway).
