9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDespite the lack of bullying, and its respectful teachers and other staff, this school has an abysmal campus that is depressing to look at. MBHS unfortunately doesn't put enough emphasis on STEM subjects, and some of the dress codes and other policies are absolutely absurd. Although the students hang around the main quad in groups like cattle, for the most part they are kind.Other Review5y ago - Pacheco Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers and principal of this school (2006-2014) are extremely dedicated to making sure your child has a positive experience at learning. They expect your child to perform but at the same time offer a tremendous amount of support and encouragement. Both of my children are attending this school and both are learning Spanish. The parents are very involved and the care and attention this school gets is reflected in the culture and atmosphere to be found at Pacheco. Such a difference from when I was in elementary school!Parent Review10y ago - Teach Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent I am not very impressed with this school. Sure, the test scores are high. But there is a lack of diversity at this school. The school requires parents to pay $600 upfront to cover the cost of the annual field trips. There is not a lot of allowance for lower income students to attend this school. The teachers and most of all, the principal, struggle to help students who need extra help and provide required accommodations. This school has a lot of shiny awards but neighborhood schools are a much better choice in my opinion if you are looking for community support for your student.Parent Review3y ago - Del Mar Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageEverything seemed to be going well with my child at Del Mar until COVID came along and exposed the problems. Firstly, the school is run by the teachers' union. The school district bowed down to all the anti-student and anti-parent policies during COVID like shutting down all in person classes for over a year. Secondly, the administration was either terrified of or unwilling to confront teachers there with unorthodox or rogue teaching and class manament methods, like telling little kids to turn to classmates to resolve conflicts or telling parents to call kids from like the 3rd grade to troubleshoot computer based learning technical problems during their COVID shutdown. As for bullying, my child experienced plenty of it there and when this was brought up to administration and the teacher it was ignored. Horrible place, mean, jaded, disinterested people there, except for a couple of good teachers who have zero say in anything there.Parent Review7mo ago - Check out schools near 215 Formosa St.

"People are outdoors walking and riding bikes. Many walking dogs. Everyone is friendly—they wave walking by or driving by. Sometimes we have neighborhood potlucks, such as on 4th of July. It’s common to have a friend or neighbor stop by to talk or have a glass of wine. It’s just very friendly and homey"
