9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMVMS really supports kids in the transition stage between elementary and high school, helping to foster independence and self-advocacy while providing a safe and supportive environment in which to develop the education and skills needed. The school provides all kinds of learning and enrichment/club opportunities so that each kid can find their niche, and that applies socially too since it’s just big enough that kids can find their people and social circles.Parent Review4mo ago - Old Mill Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have had a combined seven years of experience at Old Mill now, and we could not be happier with our experience. Our children have challenging learning differences as well as advanced academic abilities, and they have been accommodated on both sides beautifully by the faculty at the school. The classroom studies are interesting and at-home work is backed by research (which means reading, some projects, and NO busy work - thank goodness). They get 1-on-1 help when needed, thanks in large part to Kiddo! funding. There are also district-wide efforts to implement on a monthly basis positive character traits in students and their families. My only complaint about curriculum is that Old Mill Park isn't used more extensively in classroom projects. It is such a beautiful resource that's right across the street! At least parents and students make good use of it during after-school gatherings. Speaking of parents: this group of parents is wonderful. I have found so much support in other parents at the school. The friendships go beyond the usual carpool activities (though there is plenty of carpooling!). I have made most of my very best friendships here, and I think that is a result of the size of the school, our ability to volunteer together in the classrooms, and how kind these parents and their kids are in general. We absolutely love Old Mill.Parent Review5y ago - Park Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI bought my home in 1993 in Mill Valley because I Heard that the Public schools in Mill Valley were fabulous. I am a single mother and have raised two beautiful daughters in this community. We chose Park school mainly because it was closest to our house however, I have to say that it was a phenomenal choice!I have nothing but fantastic things to say about the teachers and their devotion to the job! My children are both grown now and found their ways into their dream colleges. Bravo! Park Scool!!Parent Review7y ago - Tamalpais Valley Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTam High has the best programs- better than my college back in the early 70s! The parents are involved, the community is involved- a lot of very talented people live in Mill Valley and they do provide support to the school. My son just graduated and was a top student- there are a lot of top students since the parents mostly are successful yet accessible- not snobby or as class conscious as some other top schools in Marin (although there is a moneyed crowd). Colleges I spoke to have said that Tam is "a competitive high school." So it is well thought of by college admissions. There are programs well funded by the affluent parents. The music program and mock trial for example are top award winners year after year. And the kids are just really nice. They grow uo fast around here, so some kids have to be watched but the school has great support for students such as ADHD types and they learn a lot. But it is not very insulated from realities of pot, etc. But crime isn't an issue. My second will start there in the fall.Parent Review9y ago - Check out schools near 130 Lovell Ave.

"Mill Valley is Dog Town. The dog parks are the best in the world right along the bay. Shop owners have water for dogs; many have treats for them, too. We have thousands of dogs here!"

"it has outstanding access to trails and parks. the views from this part of Mill Valley are extraordinary. there are a nice mix of ling time neighbors and new neighbors. the weather here is particularly warm and sunny."

"The neighbors are friendly and the views are great. this neighborhood is positioned in the middle of the Dipsea, Cypress, and Old Pipeline Trails, so running, hiking, and biking is just out your front door. In the center of the neighborhood there's a large permanent designated Open Space Park Area that used to be the Old Mill Valley Reservoir that people, kids, and dogs walk and play in. Their are only 12 houses on the private road, so there's not a lot of traffic and it's quiet and peaceful. Once a year there's an annual neighborhood block party at the end of Edgewood Ave. "
