2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy eldest daughter attended Lugo grades 1 through 5 and in that time, the school had three principals. Instruction was always geared towards the CST. There were no aspects of a "well-rounded" education. In her 5th grade year, she did not learn about U.S. history, science, or other topics of study. Classroom instruction and homework was always centered on questions covered in the CST. I was teaching my daughter topics she should have been learning in school because this Title I school is so under performing. Leadership is non-existant, teachers are content to just follow the agenda from the principal, and kids are not challenged. I eventually pulled her out of Lynwood Unified and enrolled her into West Middle School in the Downey Unified School District. The difference was night and day. A varied curriculum, involved teachers, and constant communication from school staff & administrators. She is now a 7th grader and taking Algebra 1, on the West TV production staff, and was the top 6th grade science student. Any parent thinking about enrolling their child in this or any Lynwood Unified school would be committing an act of child cruelty. Sincerely, Wayne B. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was an alumni at Lynwood, and I take pride in being a Knight. School started off rocky for me but got better with the help of some good teachers and supportive administrators like Mr. Beverly RIP. My daughter currently attends Lynwood and has not been so lucky, she has special needs, and she' s simply being treated like one of the masses. The counselors and the administrators all seem to be moving terribly slow with our kids. It's almost as if they're just sitting on their butts collecting a check. She likes the people, and some of the teachers understand her, but I feel my child is being punished based on her DX. Unfortunately I have to dis-enroll her and try our luck at a better school.Parent Review8y ago - Cesar Chavez Middle School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy last review was removed because I decided to say the names of the two teachers that bullied me throughout sixth grade. They insulted me and picked on me due to my beliefs. Since now I know I am unable to confront them, and say their names, I will hold back from doing so. When I went to this school, I was taught absolutely nothing. I was going to power through it and stay in Cesar Chavez Middle for seventh and eighth grade, but I got my schedule for seventh and I saw I was going to have the same English teacher who bullied me. Then I asked the principal what my class list was going to be for eighth and I was going to have the math teacher I had in sixth, she was my second bully. I would never recommend this school, even though those two teachers are no longer working there.Other Review1mo ago - Check out schools near 4661 Abbott Rd.

"Many dogs get out of their yard without supervision and go roaming. Since this is an area that has multi family homes, it’s hard to contact the dog’s owner & alert them of their dog getting out. "

"There’s plenty of homes with dogs here. They are welcome. Most dogs know each other and like to visit each other and bark at the same time. It’s a dog friendly community. There is also a local dog park where you can take your dog and he can run around and socialize with other dogs. Another thing is that is also a walkway near the Los Angeles Riverbed where you can take your dog to walk. There is an app called next door and it’s community based. So whenever there is community member has an issue for example their dog walking off from their house, they can post a picture of their dog and pertinent information that will help others locating their pet. "It is mostly families with young children but everyone stays to themselves. Some ignorant drivers race down the streets so you have to be mindful of that when taking a walk in the neighborhood. But there are some youth classes and the park "
