"I've lived here for 7 years. It's incredibly convenient with 3 grocery stores in walking distance, multiple restaurants, few minutes to freeway access. The dog walkers get to know your dog by name, but not yours :) I feel safe walking alone 24/7, street parking can be a hassle from restaurant employees and visitors."

"This a great area with so many parks and attractions within driving distance and some within walking. Especially the grocery stores. You will never be hurting for options as this is now the grocery capital of Los Ángeles. Not to mention all the viable liquor stores. "

"Parking for guest will be difficult sometimes. It’s a great place for older children. Even an elementary school, but for an odd reason you don’t see a lot of children around maybe because there’s no public parks in my immediate neighborhood."

"Great neighborhood for dogs but sidewalks are hard to come by south of valley vista blvd, so the pavement is quite hot in the summer. "

"It’s a family friendly neighborhood, just be weary of night time hours (there are bars walking distance as well as a lot of homeless people). People aren’t the nicest drivers around here and dog owners aren’t best at picking up poop. "

"Not a big chance of block parties, neighborhood gatherings, and kids growing up to hang out with the other kids in the street. Generally areas around Sherman Oaks and in don’t consist of strong community. A lot of privacy, diversity, and beauty over on this side. (Also Ventura Blvd is great to walk around.)"

"I would say the peace and the respect in the flat neighborhoods. Although my family lives on a hill which is not the safest to walk around because of the steepness and risk of cars, whenever we drive down to the flat neighborhoods it is so beautiful, breezy, and welcoming down there."

"Dog owners would dislike that a lot of other owners don’t pick up dog poop and sometimes they walk their dogs off leash which is unsafe for any dog. Only good thing is dogs are allowed in most places for rent here. "

"Many people walk their dogs in this area. Many say hello. I see people picking up after their dogs. Of course, not everyone! It is an easy, flat place to walk a dog. There are, for the most part, many sidewalks and shade trees. There is a leash law which I like. For the most part people conform. "
