4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter attended this school for kindergarten and I had a horrible experience. The school has very poor communication. They don't have a website (one of the very few schools that don't ). My daughter was changed a couple of months into school because the school had failed to properly place students. Also, her teacher went on leave and the school failed to informed me that my child would have a sub for the remainder of the year. They have very poor communication yet so many resources to utilize such as automated phone calls, letter home, email. I pulled my child from this school and I would highly encourage parents who want stability in their child's education to choose a different school.Parent Review9y ago - James A. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGoing to this school was a terrible experience. No one helps you in what you need. The college center is out of order and don't really help students who want to pursue careers such a art, theatre, etc. This school is very sports heavy that they fund it to much than the other activities.Student Review5y ago - David Wark Griffith Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt was terrible. Unfair and inneffective staff. Teacher bias rampant. I was a student here a few years back and it was the worst learning environment I have experienced with the constant bullying throughout the school. Parents if you are thinking of sending your kid to Griffith DONT do it. There are so many other schools that your kid can thrive in, but Griffith is not that school.Other Review5y ago - East Los Angeles Renaissance Academy At Esteban E. Torres High No. 2

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSo far this primary center has showed they do care about the children's academic progress. Mrs. Wu is constantly seeking new ways to engage parents in activities. There is a lot of engagement based on which teacher your child gets. (they all try, but as anywhere else, some are REALLLY good at being a teacher, while others well.. then there are others) They are BIG trying to engage parents There is a parent center where they hold workshops and meetings for parents to learn more about what is happening in the school. They also have coffee with the principle, which are very helpful. They have Dual language program for Spanish speaking students. They sometimes do off campus field trips for students and their families. they have great activities, movie nights, parades, holiday activities at school for the kids. They are open and need parent volunteers as well. They use class Dojo, which is best when parents load the app on their phone and engage daily, and weekly. You can message teacher, see events, get reminders and stay on top of your child's homework and progress. They have an awesome system in the morning, of welcoming the kids to school. The janitor/grounds keeper literally wait for cars to pull up and opens the doors for the kids to jump out and Ms. Denise with other T.As wait at the front door greeting the kids. Heads up, After school Pick up is a problem, due to both schools (4th street PC and Elementary across the street, letting out at the same time. Apparently, they have not came together with LAUSD to figure out who can run traffic control. neither school wants that responsibility. So, they'll usually call school police, but not much is done and school police can not be showing up everyday to tell parents not to leave their cars in the middle of the roads. So get there VERY early, for better parking. Oh and those surveys mean everything to them. They NEED them, However, they are sneaky about getting parents to do so. They will have student assemblies and use about 15-20 minutes of that time to "talk to parents" about getting surveys. When parents only there to see their child perform and or receive an award. The sneaky part is distasteful and inconvenient or parents who are squeezed for time as it is. not cool only Leaving 10 min for performance and awards. They entire time should be dedicated to the titled purpose.Parent Review3mo ago - Check out schools near 452 Oakford Dr.

"Limited sidewalks and street lighting at night. I rarely walk or stroll around in the area and drive everywhere. A few restaurants and a coffee shop is walkable, about 15 minutes on near Wilshire."

"Very walkable streets and high dog population neighborhood. Lots of people out walking in the evenings on a nice day, many with baby strollers, dogs or both."

"We moved to this neighborhood as a predominate work-from-home location. It’s a good community with lots of lot space where even in heavy commuter traffic you can get to the west side in ~45 mins. This feels especially satisfying compared to further out communities that people go for similar space but require 1-1.5 hour commutes each way."
- Adam Harman

"Neighborhood has yearly events, such as a holiday get together and the area draws a lot of people for Halloween festivities. There’s a number of young families that have come into the area in the past couple years and there’s good above average interaction and playtime amongst them, compared to other areas of Los Angeles from experience."

Huge dogs everywhere and doesn’t feel the safest. Pretty dirty and unmaintained. Closest grocery store is a food for less which is dirty and not where I would want to buy my groceries."
