6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen my 6 year old was a kindergartener, he had a sensitivity to cheering and clapping (he is on the spectrum). During one of the school assemblies, the students were going to perform so the parents were invited to watch. To my surprise they had announced to the room of 100+ people that instead of clapping, we would be quietly snapping instead. I started tearing up and my parents who were with me were so impressed and touched by the thoughtfulness of the staff, students and families of this school. That small gesture really told me the leadership and staff of Murdock truly care about their students.Parent Review2y ago - Spring Valley Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has some teachers who know how to teach the subject and make it understanding when others don't. This school has a lot of students who fight for idiotic reasons and the school handles it decently. They force the different grades to go out to the field between Monday through Thursday and you don't get a say. The principal found out one of my friends lied about her grade and told her parents that she lied and that he had a boyfriend. I dont know why that was necessary. The nurse is really nice and cares for the students. The councilors are good at doing their job and even giving students fidget toys when they need it for anxiety or some other reason. I would beware of how bad some students are and how some teachers teach because some teachers don't know how to teach without the whole class understanding and some students do drugs and fight for dumb reasonsOther Review1y ago - Grossmont High School

"I bought in to this neighborhood a year ago because it is eclectic and a good value. not a subdivision where the houses are all similar, we have a lot of neighbors who have lived there most of their lives."

"When we first moved to La Mesa, I wasn’t sure I liked it. The main streets aren’t all that pedestrian-friendly but parking in Downtown La Mesa can be a pain. Now that I’ve been here two years and know my frequent routes well, I really love it. The playgrounds are great for my toddlers. And for a family Sunday we have great options in Lake Murray, Cowles Mtn, Mt Helix, and Santee Lakes all just a few minutes away. The 4th of July fireworks are awesome. It really is a great place to raise a family. "
