My daughter will be going to HS next year and has had the opportunity to be in two years of culinary which she's appreciated. My son is in choir which wasn't his first choice, but he's done well, and I think performing has been a good experience for him. I don't think that they have particularly rigorous academics, but I do feel like they're learning what they should. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageJust like few mentioned, Gabriel has no regards for kids at Lemon Avenue Elementary. He started getting involved in recess yard and he will yell at kids with no respect of their emotions. I think he has no qualifications to deal with kids, he is generally guiding traffic and being rude to moms with aggressive gestures, hopefully one day we will have a decent honest man to help our kids at Lemon Avenue Elementary. "I work in La Jolla and the commute is bad. It takes 25 minutes without traffic, but it ranges from 1 hr to 1 1/2 hours each way when I’m aiming to fit a 9-5 routine. I have to leave my house near Lake Murray at 6 am every day to avoid traffic, beware of this."

"I have a short 8 minute commute where I don't have to use the freeway at all. It's great! Otherwise it can be a tad busy in the mornings from 7:30-8:30am and in the evenings from 5-6pm in weekdays. But nothing too bad."

"When we first moved to La Mesa, I wasn’t sure I liked it. The main streets aren’t all that pedestrian-friendly but parking in Downtown La Mesa can be a pain. Now that I’ve been here two years and know my frequent routes well, I really love it. The playgrounds are great for my toddlers. And for a family Sunday we have great options in Lake Murray, Cowles Mtn, Mt Helix, and Santee Lakes all just a few minutes away. The 4th of July fireworks are awesome. It really is a great place to raise a family. "
