9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved into our neighborhood and bought our house just so all four of our kids could go to Hawes!! We currently have a fourth grader and a second grader at Hawes, and we love it so much!! All the teachers are amazing (we’ve had Largey, Oakes, Arsenault, Zeutzius, Volk, & Borns-and we love them all!). Principal Jennings is great-very involved with the students and parents and runs the best kind of tight ship. One of our kids has multiple diagnoses (and is also Gate) and is on an IEP, and we feel so supported by all the faculty and staff! Can't recommend Hawes enough!Parent Review1mo ago - Isaac L. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe majority of the bullying was resolved from my experience. and the majority of my teachers were nice, and understanding over outside-of-school situations. I just wish the students were a bit nicer to others instead of judging them for what they like or dress like.Parent Review1y ago - Edison High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm alumni from 80s. The school has certainly fallen in terms of whom it hires. So much bloat in staff. The AD is a joke and leaves at noon everyday yet I am sure collects a full paycheck. The Asst Principals are almost 1/2 dozen and work as hard as old Twitter employees before Elon Musk bought the place. The teachers aren't the problem here though they aren't half bad just a little bit less intelligent than their predecessors. They give loads of homework in lieu of actual teaching the students how to think. The place is way different than it used to be in terms of sports because the AD has clearly made many bad decisions and just cares about his pension and nothing else. A great place to go if you're woke and you want your kids to work at Starbucks.Other Review3mo ago - Check out schools near 9972 Voyager Cir.

"We have lived in HB for 29 years. It used to be a sleepy little beach resort. Now that we are "on the map", traffic is terrible. If you live anywhere near Beach Blvd, Adams, Goldenwest or any of the other major streets (which there are many) you will hear traffic, especially motorcycles. Of course, this is just the price we pay for living in a city with great weather, access to upper scale shopping, freeway close to Disneyland, mountains and the desert. If you are considering HB and have never been here, I would consider visiting on a weekend so you can see and hear the impact the traffic will make on your daily life."

"I work based at home so I couldn’t tell ya. But it’s close enough to downtown when I have meetings down there to ride my bike down. And good access to freeways, the most I commute is to North County SD or Beverly Hills."
