7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son just finished his first year at Harbor View Elementary as a Kindergartener. I was admittedly extremely nervous transitioning him from his previous school since the teacher to student ratio was more favorable in that private school institution. I was surprised to see how much care was given to my son given that the classes were larger than I was used to. His teacher, Mrs. Carabini, was such an amazing teacher and really cared about her students. I look forward to seeing my child grow and develop at HV elementary.Parent Review9mo ago - Marine View Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is SPED with ASD. He's often left to do things on his own. He's consistently bullied by the students and the staff do nothing about it. He's been mocked all year, and even had his locker lock and PE clothes stolen. Any time I bring this up it's brushed off. He missed a week of school because he had a seasonal allergy related cough. Even with a doctor's note, he was sent home early every day for 8 school days. The teachers consistently tell him I don't know what I'm talking about. When I brought my concerns to the VP, she agreed to try and schedule a meeting. Two months later, still no meeting. The teachers don't respond to parent communication. It's so bad I'm considering requesting a transfer to another school. This is not a good learning environment for students with ASD. Zero stars, would not recommend.Parent Review2mo ago - Marina High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm really pleased with Marina. A lot of my friends chose Huntington and I feel the academics at Marina are superior although I feel you can't go wrong with either school - there is no bad choice. Marina has a strong push to go to college and do well. The only negative is there is a very low emphasis on sports compared to other high schools - with the exception of baseball, cheer and dance.Parent Review5y ago - Check out schools near 4831 King Cir #A.

"We have lived in HB for 29 years. It used to be a sleepy little beach resort. Now that we are "on the map", traffic is terrible. If you live anywhere near Beach Blvd, Adams, Goldenwest or any of the other major streets (which there are many) you will hear traffic, especially motorcycles. Of course, this is just the price we pay for living in a city with great weather, access to upper scale shopping, freeway close to Disneyland, mountains and the desert. If you are considering HB and have never been here, I would consider visiting on a weekend so you can see and hear the impact the traffic will make on your daily life."

"I work based at home so I couldn’t tell ya. But it’s close enough to downtown when I have meetings down there to ride my bike down. And good access to freeways, the most I commute is to North County SD or Beverly Hills."
