6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat school! The teachers are amazing and the students are sweet and well behaved. The staff does a lot of fun activities for the students like Read Across America, Chinese new year performance and they have a garden class. The staff really cares about kids.Parent Review1y ago - Hercules High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageEverything is textbook based, until the teachers create a test with nothing you’ve learned on the textbook. The lectures were little to nonexistent and there isn’t anything to pay attention in class because it’s either going over your homework from the previous night or from the textbook. Had a security guard accuse a student of sexual harassment when they hugged their friend and their friend’s skirt lifted up a bit. Had a shooter threat and didn’t cancel school for safety. When it was smoky, I had to wait outside for multiple teachers to come back from using the bathroom during the entirety of the passing period. Over the years, most of my friends had transferred out to a better school and I should’ve done the same.Student Review2y ago - Hercules Middle School

"Lots of families, diverse ethnicity. Mostly clean, some homeowners have let their properties lapse when it comes to landscape and minor house up keep. "

"Very active Halloween- everyone in town floods our neighborhood. Great recreation area- dog walkers, family bike rides, very close/great access to the Bay Trail. Once a year we’ve had Food trucks on Bayfront, just a block away. We used to have a multicultural festival first week d of June and Fireworks co-hosted by Hercules and Pinole."

"Commute is bad when rush hour! Have to leave early to avoid bad traffic! A cop likes to check on early commuters at one stop sign by 5:35am! If you do not stop completely by the stop sign where is still residential , you will get a ticket! The cop is always hiding by the stop sign to catch you! "

"None. This neighborhood reminds me of a commuter school. Not that I’m complaining but I have nothing in common with my neighbors age/profession/income/interests. Only benefit is it’s close to the city and easy fwy access. "

"It's a pretty place to live and very quite unless your neighbor has a barking dog. Then you need to get the HOA and Humane Society involved and it does take time before anything is resolved. Hercules has no industry except a Luckys, Home Depot, Wells Fargo, Post Office, library and various other smaller shops. You'll need to drive to Richmond (10 minute drive) for the closest Target and movie theatre. Or you can drive out to Concord/Walnut Creek. If you are single, unless you perfer to stay in most of the time, this is NOT an area you want to live in. If you don't mind driving or BARTing to SF every weekend then you'll be okay. Overall, I do like it because it is quite and clean but I seriously miss SF. I am 55 and single and it's the arts I miss the most as well as being able to walk rather than drive where I want to go."

"I am retired but commuted to San Francisco for 22 years from this location. The transportation to San Francisco is excellent especially since Hercules added the Lynx bus which goes none stop to San Francisco. There is also a transit center with buses to BART. There are two parks within the facility with walking paths and a fenced swimming pool. This is a one owner home in a quiet bedroom community. "

"Hercules has great plans for tying in to the rest of the Bay. Once that happens, it will be a spectacular place to live. Some of the development happened at the apex of the housing boom. Those houses are beautifully appointed. Some have amazing views. The neighborhoods are fully integrated. This is a place where you can live the American Dream in all the best ways. great value, great neighborhoods. "
