5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageManor Elementary School in Fairfax is amazing and we are so thrilled to be part of this community! Our TK daughter is thriving. The staff is skilled, the setting is beautiful, and the school has so many resources. Our daughter enjoys a full library on campus, music classes, art classes, in addition to the incredible assemblies and guest speakers and well thought out curriculum. So far this year, there has been an expert on owls, and an owl came to the class, Wild Care visited and she learned about local animals, and next a bat expert will visit and she will get to see one up close. Her TK teacher is highly skilled with her age range, and the class runs smoothly, there is plenty of play time in the class and also during recess and lunch. TK/Kinder and 1st grade enjoy their own playground, and TK/K has private entrances through a tiny garden so it feels like a very protected and special space for the little ones. Every time I have visited the kids seem so happy and independent. It's also helpful to know that the Manor team has many educational support systems and staff including a wonderful speech therapist, counselor and school psychologist. The parent community is also very welcoming which was important to us too. People often look to local charter schools for their kids, thinking they have more to offer. But I highly recommend families do a lot of research, and speak to as many teachers and families as possible, and not make any assumptions. We discovered that Manor has SO much to offer and goes above and beyond. Our daughter is not naturally inclined to jump into new situations, and having been a pandemic toddler, speaking to adults is hard for her. The Manor staff has created such a warm, friendly, and emotionally safe environment, she is blossoming. She speaks, she has friends, and she loves her school.Parent Review3mo ago - White Hill Middle School

"Meadow Way is the only really open, sunny area in Cascade Canyon and is ideal for children--they play in the street. Adjacent by short walk to huge nature-preserve with hiking and mountain-biking trails. Walk to town about 15 minutes, where busses run. "

"The Redwood Road neighborhood of Fairfax is a wonderful place to live. We have been here for over 15 years and love it! We have raised our daughter here and also have two pets (a dog and a a cat) and it is an excellent place for kids and pets. There is also plenty of beautiful open space nearby where you can hike, bike, or just picnic. Mt Tam is nearby, as are the local lakes which provide even more hiking possibilities. Downtown fairfax is a mere one mile walk down the hill. Fairfax is a great little town with lots of local businesses. The folks in this area are very friendly and helpful, and the schools are excellent. m Fairfax is one of those places that still has the flavor of Marin from 'back in the day' when it wasn't so expensive and built up.
