5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter has gone here since Kindergarten and enjoyed her Kinder and first grade teachers. But problems arrived with the staff when she was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and I requested a 504 plan with the teacher and principal and never heard back after providing documentation. Then again this year I requested a 504 plan with her new teacher and nothing was done again, which has caused her to fall behind in 3rd grade. Due to their lack of support for my child she could be held back if I dont catch her up myself at home with workbooks. She tells her teacher she doesn't understand her math and is told to just "do her best work". This will not help a struggling child. This school sadly does not care about children needing extra help or falling behind. Only about attendance and test scores.Parent Review1mo ago - Marina Village Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMarina Village Middle school is amazing! The staff are super nice and there are many great extracurriculars like Battle of the Books and Spelling Bee! The library is also amazing- the librarian, Ms. Kimberly, really fosters the kids' learning and reading!Student Review1mo ago - Lakeview Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Pros: Tremendous parent involvement and support. Strong PTO. Teachers who care and have a lot of classroom experience. High test scores. The Cons: 30:1 ratios in the classroom and there is a bit of a "drill and kill" philosophy in the classroom with a lot of worksheets and desk work (don't expect experiential learning to happen too much). Currently no music curriculum in lower grades, PE two times per week, and art is done by parent volunteers. Classroom ratios are a school district issue. The board is a bit of a mess and does not take into account parent feedback and concerns regarding class size. That said, there are issues with declining revenue due to less students. With large class sizes come some social issues for kids in the younger grades and some bullying behavior that could be prevented if teachers didn't have such big classes, in my opinion. My star rating would be higher if the district could figure out some innovate ways to lower class size and provide a more well rounded education.Parent Review10y ago - Pleasant Grove Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teaching staff are incredibly warm and helpful in ensuring all students succeed. The office and support staff go out of their way to know every student's name and interests; it's really impressive. I highly recommend PG!Parent Review1y ago - Ponderosa High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere is a lot of entitlement in El Dorado Hills in general but that can be attributed to a student's home life. That is not indicative of this school. The school has been very supportive of my kids and has welcomed my input. I see reviews of sour grapes from some of the parents but these kids finish with a quality education and the majority go on to college.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 6589 Goya Way.

"Music and Arts education and Expressive Arts Therapy are the critical component for the proper development of advanced cognitive functions of our evolutionary young and still evolving human brain. The artistic process that involves metaphorical cognition is the gateway to the adequate self-perception, through th prism of sensory reactivation, crucial to serve as the counterpoint to the societal convention of emotional self-repression that debilitates our sensory abilities to inform our self-preservation instinct, involved into prioritizing for the right reasons and choosing the right goals and purposes."
