8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDavis High is a great school with great teachers. My son is a senior and has had a great experience. Competition is pretty high as the town (Davis) is a small community with a very large University of California campus, and thus is filled with parents who have advanced degrees and very high academic standards. I suspect academically weaker students will feel this, but on the other hand academically talented students will have the opportunity to excel. If your child is not academically strong (or at least average) they may be best served by other alternatives in Davis (Da Vinci High), a private school, or in nearby high schools.Parent Review7mo ago - Marguerite Montgomery Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have 2 children that have been to MME, CCE and Willett at various times. All 3 schools have things we like and don't like. With MME, the things we liked are: - The small school size thus closer community feeling. From the principle, to teachers to parents, we always felt being included despite my kid started at 1st grade instead of K like many other families. When moving up to the next grade, most kids get to stay in the same class so a lasting friendship is easy to build. When my kid attended another school with 3-4 classes at each grade, a good friend at one grade could become a stranger when they are in different classes next year. - The Spanish immersion/bilingual program is a well run program. Parents who value language/culture are easy to bond together. - Davis Parent Nursing School is on the same campus which is very convenient for families with preschool aged younger sibling. - Beautiful campus and right next to the large soccer field. The things we don't like about MME is: - No AIM program. - Despite the hardworking of the principal and teachers, the school consistently gets PI status which is discomforting and discouraging.Parent Review9y ago - Frances Ellen Watkins Harper Junior High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHarper is a terrible school. The education is bad and the staff is horrible. But the sports are good hence why I gave 1 star.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near LOT Street Boston Ter #A.

"People in the area walk their dogs on the sidewalks and seem welcome. Due to the large number of apartments in the area dog ownership skews heavily towards the smaller side it seems."

"lots of grass for dogs to poop and pee. however, this area is extremely expensive. so, if you want to live here, you probably can't afford to have a dog. You'll probably barely be able to take care of yourself. good luck! we're all doomed here in California. "

"Fabulous old neighborhood that will be turning over very soon. Many houses are getting renovated and put up for sale. Careful of where you buy though. Certain neighborhoods have access to pools and gyms and some do not. Make sure you decide carefully"

"Neighbors meet in the cul de sac on Thursday nights to visit. Everyone brings their own chair and preferred beverage. We actually really like each other. Occasionally we will put up a big screen and watch a movie outside. "

"Good city just too expensive. You get what you paid for. If you hate driving and like riding bikes it’s perfect. If you like to drive you’re going to hate all the bike lanes."

"It is a wonderful community. People enjoy exercise, walking their pets, and playing in the parks. We have a wonderful place where fruits grow, but if you pick the fruits, people will yell at you. Keep in mind many of the fruits lie wasted on the ground. "
