She had EXCELLENT teachers and the Principal and staff were so welcoming and supportive. It's middle school - which is literally the worst - but, overall my daughter made great friends, learned new things, and excelled! There were a couple of issue with other students, but admin was quick to help and make things better. I appreciated the time they took to listen and respond. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe main problem with this school seems to be the principal. Since his arrival, he has made many significant changes, some of which have been concerning. Unfortunately, he sometimes ignores emails from parents who are seeking help. It is unclear whether he is too busy to respond or simply unwilling to assist.In addition, during the COVID-19 pandemic, this school was not adequately prepared, and most of the time, children did not learn anything. It was a very challenging time for students and parents alike.Furthermore, I agree with the comment made by Agree Fish about the office staff needing to be more friendly. On a positive note, the teachers are generally very good, although not all of them are equally effective. "The neighborhood is made up of modest single family houses, most of which were built in the 1940’s, but now are being spruced up by new owners. The majority of the houses and yards are small but well kept which makes them great starter homes for first time buyers. One perk of living in this neighborhood is that most of the homes are within walking distance to BART."
