"Lots of cockroaches, big ones too. It’s an old neighborhood. Streets are dirty. Sidewalks not kept up. But the people are nice, especially when they tap into your internet. Yet still, the good people you meet make it worthwhile. I’m towards Grand Terrace area of Colton. I feel safest here. Just make sure you lock your doors as in any neighborhood "

"I see families walking there dogs at night and seem to be comfortable doing so. I have a mixed American Bully/Pit bill that is the best dog I have ever had. He is well behaved and astonishly good with children! He looks mean but quite the opposite. People on the street seem to understand that not all pit bull type doge are vicious."

"This place is unsatisfactory on many, if not all levels. During the 11 short months that I have been here, two buildings have caught fire, an explosion that involved the destruction of eleven cars has tragically happened, and during the day, numerous children relentlessly (and noisily) play their games right outside your window, giving you absolutely no peace and quiet and often times, a disturbance that involves something smashing against the outside of your wall/window, or something that landed within the walls of your patio, rendering the children to knock on your door, only to have them do it again. On a personal level, I have had my car broken into and have had items stolen from it countless times; I have given up trying to report this and have resorted to simply keeping nothing important inside it. Once, I found my car missing, only to discover it with the door ajar, 100 ft. down the street. More than once, my grandmother have found it difficult to sleep due to blaring music from the apt. above us, and have found it necessary to call in security to hush them up. I have personally witnessed a gang fight outside my window, and although security has been implanted to prevent any further wrongdoing, the event was nevertheless traumatizing. Several times, I have woken up to ambulance and fire trucks blaring out in the parking lot, and have witnessed people being wheeled on them, though the cause is unknown to me. Overall, on the safety, don't expect much. The water never works right, either. Cold is hot, hot is cold, and during days where you hot water, it gives you nothing but cold water and vice versa. Basically, Nova Pointe is a cheap place to reside short-term, the people you meet on daily basis are (generally) friendly, and shops are easily within walking distance, but trust me, if you can find something better, choose that without a second thought."
