8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe bullying is out of control. Racial and LGBT slurs shouted across the lunch area and sexual assault threats made both out and inside the classroom. The teachers don't seem even remotely aware of Title IX or know how to fix the problem. The principal and assistant principal seem useless in this regard. The bullies are never punished, and it's the bullied who must do things to avoid them. As well, learning is disrupted by these behaviors. If you can afford to sent your child elsewhere, do it.Other Review2y ago - Sumner Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe initial year went smoothly, but things took a downturn with his fourth-grade teacher, who was quite a handful. Displaying behaviors that were out of line and unprofessional, it seemed the teacher was grappling with being overworked and overwhelmed. This resulted in my student being exposed to more personal information and beliefs of the teacher than was appropriate. The teacher’s actions had a significantly negative impact, although I don’t believe it was intentional. I had a hunch that the teacher might benefit from therapy or a break. Eventually, the teacher had to take medical leave due to an injury, which surprisingly was a blessing in disguise. Upon returning, the teacher was notably improved, but unfortunately, this transformation occurred too late in the year to undo the negativity and bullying that had already affected my student. This school also endorses the act of reporting on others, yet fail to acknowledge its potential as a form of bullying. Oftentimes, ill-behaved children receive protection when they provoke their selected targets and then use any resulting reactions against them. These individuals subject their peers to harassment, and if the victims stand up for themselves, they exploit the reporting system to get them into trouble. This transforms reporting into a tool for manipulation. Regrettably, those who lack popularity or favoritism are subjected to mistreatment if they dare to report such incidents, with little effective intervention against these cunning students.Parent Review7mo ago - Check out schools near 4556 Liveoak Dr.
