7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth of our children have attended this school (class of 2018 and 2021). Our children have attended other schools in other states (Texas, Maryland and Hawaii) and this is by far the worst school, school district and state run education system we have experienced. Both of our children were high academic/AP students. If you children are high academic, then you HAVE to make the school what you need. However, you must go beyond and prepare on your own to be successful in AP exams. Only a few classes actually prepare you for the exam Calculus (Mrs Kennedy) and some English teachers. Science (Physics, Biology, Chemistry) and Government and Economics preparation are a joke. The new quarter schedule is pathetic and brutal to AP kids. If you are a AP/honors student, you will no longer have any opportunity to take any other classes besides the very basic subjects and never have access to more broadening and interesting classes. The principal does not care about the well being of the students as I have personally observed. He only cares about facilities, regulations and following district guidelines without any empathy or personal consideration. Especially, during the pandemic that trait was demonstrated on multiple occasions. The campus and lobby now looks like a prison or fortified police station. I would NEVER send my children to this school again. Unfortunately, we were late into our high school years before it really became a problem and apparent. There are caring and hard working individuals at this school, but they are rare and in the minority. We can’t wait to get away from this school and never look back. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.Parent Review2y ago - Tierra Linda Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have been a parent at Tierra Linda since 2009. This is my last year since my youngest is in 5th grade. Tierra Linda has been a great school for both of my kids. I am surprised to see a few of these bad reviews. This school has always been great, it's gotten even better now that our newer principal has really taken pride in the school and made many improvements. I am very involved in this school and have seen and heard parents moving in TL's boundaries to make sure they attend. Our family involvement is great...this school is the total package. PTA is great, technology is great, great teachers that care. I have proof...most of the kids on the honor society in middle school are Tierra Linda Kids...I am very proud of this school.Parent Review7y ago - Las Colinas Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOne of my memorable and valued middle schools I've been to. Out of all schools (I have moved a lot and so have been to many schools throughout my life) I have ever been to, Las Colinas might just be one of the best. I have made some friends, which have very knitted and well-read personalities and wisdom. Though my experience was not full, for I have been there for only 2 of my middle school years, it was nice. The educational quality is pretty good, teachers can be funny or interesting if you have respect and get to know them. I do wish to get to know my history teacher a little better during 7th grade. "I have lived in this area since 2011 and love living in Camarillo. My complex is like its own Shire... everyone is friendly and we are protected by trees. I feel as though if I were to go to a neighbor and ask for a cup of sugar I would get it and feel comfortable also coming back with some of what I baked as equal trade... "
