    "This is actually a pretty nice area to live. Walking distance to downtown. Police station is one mile away - so there's high visibility. Has not been taken over by a mass of renters like Deer Ridge and Shadow lakes - that seem to be the target for foreign investors. I would say the only real downside is that you have to drive across town to get to highway 4, BUT we have the shortcut to Vasco and Discovery Bay. The only post office in town is around the corner from my home."

    "I've lived in the area for 14 years, and in Brentwood for almost 10. While it isn't the sprawling city of San Francisco, or even San Jose, Brentwood has got the best of a small town while still being able to feel like you aren't in the middle of no where. It's safer than most major cities, and the community is pretty close. Disregarding the healthy competition between the local schools, everyone is pretty much supportive and helpful toward one another. Indeed, perhaps the one drawback of the area is the lack of a public transit system such as BART, but the Tri-Delta Transit is pretty effective, and BART is most likely going to be moving out to the area within the next 10-15 years. Singles may not find the area as inviting as everyone else would, but whether you have kids or not, or even if you're retired, Brentwood is perhaps one of the best suburbs of the Bay."
