8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat school overall. I have a lot of family who graduated from Sabino. As a transgender individual I only somewhat recommend this school. I have multiple mental health issues, and combined with being transgenders, the students are not great at all. I have seen that maybe 1/5 of the students are supportive. The teachers (so far), though, are very supportive and respectful. I even engage in long conversations with some monitors.I highly recommend this school for its theatre program. Mr. Kissel and his Sabino Players (advanced drama) are extremely talented and successful. Mr. Kissel is an amazing person and he is extremely kind, playful, and welcoming. He offers an Improv Club that has maybe 4 or 5 shows a year and they are wonderfully hilarious. The first show had the club wear ties, the second was its Halloween show, and in February we are having a competition-type show. I am a part of Improv and I am highly excited to continue this through the rest of my time at Sabino!Student Review1y ago - Fruchthendler Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son just started kinder at Ms. Cassie’s class. He couldn’t be happier (and he has learned so much in just a month)! My older kids had attended elementary schools in CO, other TUSD schools (Sam Hughes and Wright), International School of Tucson, and Basis. This is by far the most amazing school in EVERY aspect. The family, the kids, and the teachers/staffs are simply fantastic. Everyone is friendly, organized, and serious with what they do. Everyone heard of how dysfunctional TUSD is BUT this school is definitely an outlier. We were very sad that Mary Anderson retired from being the principal but we are sure the system that she left behind should last for a while. Mary is the only principal in the whole state of Arizona to receive Terrel H. Bell award for outstanding leadership. If you ever meet her, you would appreciate her ability and character.Parent Review1y ago - Magee Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThey did nothing during months of my granddaughter being bullied. She was pushed to the ground and hit on several occasions, including several punches to the head. Some occasions were caught on video, yet they still did nothing. They seemed more concerned about protecting those that were doing the bullying and believing their unrealistic stories than protecting her. She had to change schools because she no longer felt safe. I am so disappointed in the teachers and staff that turned their head and ignored what was happening. They should protect everyone that attends but they do not.Other Review1y ago - Miles-Exploratory Learning Center

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSadly, this school put my child with special needs in danger and then completely abandoned her. This was our home district and we were happy to get my children into what we thought was a kind and inclusive school community. The problem at Miles wasn't the teachers, they are caring and creative, the problem is poor resources and ineffective and inflexible administration. The district will try to get out of paying anything they can for students with special needs. I had a letter documenting my child's need for an aide from her developmental pediatrician and they had the data from the school showing she clearly needed 1:1 support but they still would not provide it due to the cost. When my 5 year old got away from her teacher who was in charge of a whole kindergarten class and ran into a busy street they finally recognized that she needed some aide support. That was several months into the year when she had already been endangered by their reckless policies. Then when school went to online only in March 2020 and my 6 year old child with special needs could not learn that way, admin just gave up and refused to educate her. They would not bring her in for tutoring or any services, nothing, even though her special ed teacher recognized that she could not learn online and wanted to teach her in person and felt she could do it safely, admin refused and completely abandoned her. The school has remained shuttered for an entire year now, 12 months, to students who desperately needed in person education, what a travesty, I feel terribly for any students stuck in TUSD who needed in person education and have list out on so much. I am so incredibly thankful we got our kids into CFSD, they are doing an excellent job educating all children safely even during a challenging year and are a much more welcoming and inclusive community!Parent Review3y ago - University High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school sets you up well for the future with a great counseling department and effective teachers. Yes, there is a hefty workload, but this is communicated to incoming students before they enroll. It has a good environment and a helpful staff. If a student can stick with it and get through their freshman year, I can guarantee they will be successful through their high-school career and beyond.Other Review2y ago - Catalina Online Learning Experience
