N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBMES is an excellent school with an extremely dedicated, enthusiastic and effective principal. The teachers and all of the support staff are professional, devoted and fun. The Arts program offers dance and drama on top of art and music. There are many clubs for the kids to join in the school such as drama, dance, chorus and band. The before/after school program is also excellent. We have moved multiple times for husband's job and with our kids being age 8, 14 & 19 we have experienced many elementary schools, and this one is by far the best. We moved here when our 14 year old was in 5th grade and he was welcomed, joined the drama club and got a leading role in the school play (which is performed at the Cactus Shadows Fine Arts Center adjacent to BMES). We saw him blossom from a relatively shy young man to a theater star in one year. He also was nominated and featured in an art show and presented with a wonderful gift of art supplies. Our daughter started Kinder there and has enjoyed her time there and has had absolutely wonderful teachers (she is now in 2nd grade). She was recently diagnosed with a small learning disability and is in an IEP. We couldn't be more pleased and impressed with the additional help she is receiving and are already seeing tremendous improvement and confidence on her part. The PTO is also the best I have experienced having volunteered at many schools. I have never seen such a dedicated PTO President and board as well as volunteers. I can't wait until it is safe again for parents to volunteer there again. It's a really great place to volunteer and meet other parents.Parent Review3y ago - Cactus Shadows High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCCUSD is a one high school district, which gives it a very small town feel. Cactus Shadows does a great job of helping the community feel connected. They offer plenty of extracurriculars for both sports and clubs. The class sizes can be big, but they do what they can when the residents won’t ever pass the overrides. They offer plenty of AP classes, and my daughter has felt challenged without drowning in homework. Like any school, we’ve had a couple of teachers we didn’t love. But overall, at least 90% of them have been kind, caring, and really strive to make learning fun. We adore her counselor. As a local to the area and a former teacher in a neighboring district, I can say that we specifically chose CSHS over the other nearby public schools for a reason. There are pros and cons to every school, but overall we’ve been very pleased and plan to send our younger children here as well.Parent Review5mo ago - Sonoran Trails Middle School

"Gunshots at night it scares the dogs. Most owners don’t pick up after their dogs dropping. Dogs are not on a leash. You will like that many are dog owners. They can bring their pets in most food places with them."
