He applied for North’s International Baccalaureate (IB) program and started there last year. I was worried about the transition from a rural small school to an urban large school as a new kid freshman year after being online for 8th grade d/t COVID but he has never been happier. Supportive environment, great teachers, and he feels like he’s found his ‘people’. He also was in two high school sports teams and plans on joining a third next year. "We have neighborhood potlucks , we have wonder bicycling in our area and property’s are well maintained. Lots of walkers and pet walkers, and feel safe in our neighborhood "

"There can be a high rate of crime in the area with a large homeless population, and the city doesn't maintain parks and public places. It's home to me as I grew up here and love it, but there are definitely downsides."

"There are a few hiking spots close by, there is a nice running trail that runs alongside the canal and Camelback Rd. Southwest Human Development makes its home here supporting early childhood for much of Maricopa County. There’s no shortage of businesses around here. This area borders the more well to do Arcadia and Biltmore neighborhoods as well as the more decidedly homeless and drugee scene that runs South of Thomas Rd. It’s a typical Phoenix neighborhood otherwise."
