N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBMES is an excellent school with an extremely dedicated, enthusiastic and effective principal. The teachers and all of the support staff are professional, devoted and fun. The Arts program offers dance and drama on top of art and music. There are many clubs for the kids to join in the school such as drama, dance, chorus and band. The before/after school program is also excellent. We have moved multiple times for husband's job and with our kids being age 8, 14 & 19 we have experienced many elementary schools, and this one is by far the best. We moved here when our 14 year old was in 5th grade and he was welcomed, joined the drama club and got a leading role in the school play (which is performed at the Cactus Shadows Fine Arts Center adjacent to BMES). We saw him blossom from a relatively shy young man to a theater star in one year. He also was nominated and featured in an art show and presented with a wonderful gift of art supplies. Our daughter started Kinder there and has enjoyed her time there and has had absolutely wonderful teachers (she is now in 2nd grade). She was recently diagnosed with a small learning disability and is in an IEP. We couldn't be more pleased and impressed with the additional help she is receiving and are already seeing tremendous improvement and confidence on her part. The PTO is also the best I have experienced having volunteered at many schools. I have never seen such a dedicated PTO President and board as well as volunteers. I can't wait until it is safe again for parents to volunteer there again. It's a really great place to volunteer and meet other parents.Parent Review3y ago - Cactus Shadows High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was very disappointed with my child’s experience at this school. There is a huge teacher and counselor turn around. My kid had so many counselors in the 4 years at the school they didn’t know who she was and she never had any help with college planning etc. There have been long term subs that were clueless. Teachers that never taught a subject before (they normally teach something else at the school) and do not know what they are doing. I honestly believe if you’re not a sports kid or in the top 5% they don’t know who you are. "We have dogs and we love the dog stations around the neighborhood that supply poop bags and a receptacle for full poop bags. That helps keep the area clean. Also, there are plenty of nice sidewalks so you don’t have to walk on the road. So much safer!"

"Easy access to loop 101 an hwy 51. You can get anywhere pretty quickly and with ease. Shopping and restaurants are close by."

"There are a lot of young families or new families starting in this area. The majority of the people you meet are under there 40s. The area is close to a major shopping outdoor mall and restaurants and it gives you the city feel without living in the city. "

"My family has lived here since 1999 and we find everything a family or people at any age could want. Great public schools, clean, safe, friendly neighborhoods, easy highway access and numerous restaurants and entertainment locations within a few miles. Many of the major hospitals supporting Phoenix are located within a few miles; Mayo (2), Paradise Valley (5), and Scottsdale (10). Many miles of trails supporting hiking and biking. At one time this was a road bikers paradise ... not so much now with all the traffic developed north of our location."

"My third sale in Boulder Creek. What a delightful pocket community snugged up against the Mountains, yet immediate access to the 101 and 51 for fast transportation to Scottsdale, downtown Phoenix or, well, anywhere. Happy community of friendly neighbors who love living around an elementary and junior high school which are the center of the planned community. Costco a mile away, tons of shopping, especially Desert Ridge Regional Shopping Center is one exit away."
