4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved here from out of state with high hopes of a small town feeling and more hands on support in the classroom. What we got was a school full of ignorant teachers that openly harassed my youngest child for their gender expression and a school counselor that crossed professional boundaries with my eldest child. Moreover, the boys in this school are allowed to verbally and physically harass the girls without any reprisal at all. Boys were allowed to make slandering and extremely sexual statements and sounds toward girls in the classrooms and hallways throughout the year. Because of this, grades and attendance suffered. School started this year on 8/18/2021. The school board met purposefully on the evening of 8/17/2021 and voted against the Arkansas mask mandate in spite of the CDC and AHD recommendation's that masks remain in place. Children are dying in the hospitals in Arkansas right now and these backward, anti-maskers are having last minute meetings the night before school starts so that parents of the district will not have a back up plan. The teachers and administration of this school refuse to even tolerate anything other than sis gender or straight identity and told me as much in their office. This is illegal at best and detrimental to my child's self esteem. If I had known that the school was lost in the 1930's, then I would have never purchased a home in the area. I have already started the process of looking elsewhere, but it is really time for a change in this district.Parent Review2y ago - Greenland High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved to NWA in 2013 from Arlington, Tx., where our daughter attended a 5A school. We were hesitant to enroll her at GHS based upon the reviews on this site. We visited the school several times before making our decision. The faculty and staff were so helpful and really took the time to get to know our child. We decided to give Greenland a try, worse case we would pull her out and enroll in a private school.Let me say- this was one of the best decisions we have made for our child! We could not be happier with GHS. Our daughter was welcomed by the other students, challenged by the teachers & is enjoying her high school experience. Our daughter is a straight A student, involved in many clubs & will definitely be college ready thanks to Greenland High School students, teachers & staff.I am always welcomed by the faculty when I visit the school. They actually appreciate parent involvement. They really know my daughter, and notice when she is having a bad day or struggling with something. The one on one attention that the students receive at Greenland is outstanding and not something you can expect to get in the bigger overcrowded schools. At GHS they know my daughter by name, she's not just another kid passing through the doors everyday. We are so glad that we decided to give Greenland a try despite the reviews on this site. If you are considering a move to the Fayetteville area, I strongly encourage you to visit Greenland schools!Parent Review8y ago - Greenland Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI agree with the review of Greenland High saying this was best kept secret. Families will continue to move their kids to this school from some of the nearby bigger because the students get a chance to shine here. Principal is very hands on and former marine who is great example of a man. His admin assistant rules the roost and is married to police chief. Its a great community of wholesome folks with the school in the town square beside the police and fire departments. It's not impressive on the outside but inside the walls the kids are taught from some of the best professionals around who love kids encourage them to find their strengths and compete in regional events. Sports are big; as are extracurricular activities. My kids started in the band but ended up stopping to focus on piano and violin. if you're considering this place your kids will be destined for success.Parent Review8y ago - Check out schools near 601 W Whillock St.

"Good schools and love our police department . They always patrol and checking the neighbor hood out looking for things out of place."

"Crime rate in the nearby income based apartment complex is super high. Shooting, drug deals and worse. Management gaslights tenants to avoid responsibility "

"Homeless hubs all through local woods and bike trails. This seems the old segregated area of town. Situated behind the “downtown entertainment district”, a military housing complex turned into low income projects housing, a confederate cemetery, the county prison and the edge of town. Great equity on a repaired or rebuilt home tho"

"There are plenty of sidewalks, parks and trails for runs and walks. There are several dog parks. Sidewalks and roads are well lit and maintained. Loads of people run with their dogs. The only negative for dogs in my neighborhood is the limited backyard space, which is still above average!"
