2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter graduated from WBHS in 2009 and started in Montevallo. A friend of hers went to Samford. Both were straight A students in high school. Both dropped out of college because they weren't prepared and couldn't handle it. Now my youngest will be going to WBHS next year unless I can somehow manage to move over the summer. (I'm trying!!) As with all school systems, you have the "populars" and other cliques. Some of the teachers care and some don't. (Tenure should be outlawed.) Football is a huge deal, but they also have several other sports. Nothing really that isn't sports related, though. The area itself is very "good ol' boy" and outsiders will never fit in. Also, it's a very poor area and a lot of things are pretty run down. I've never seen it first-hand, but my doctor says drugs are highly prevalent. A lot of inbreeding and trailer trash. I can't wait to get out of here and give my second daughter a better chance than my first one had. Wish I'd realized it back then.Parent Review8y ago - West Blocton Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am currently going to this school in the 8th grade and hate the learning conditions, book not up to date, teachers discipline us for no reason, food quality is bad, etc. Are Principle Mr. Duane McGee just sits around all day doing nothing unless he is walking around the school exercising. Also Principle Mr. Duane McGee has banned total use of cellular devices, we used to be able to carry them around in are pockets by are teachers in case of emergency or checking the time but now we have to have them put up and first time he catches you with a cellular or mobile device he takes it up for 30 days and the parent has to pick it up after the 30 day sentence. And there are a lot of other reasons why this school sucks but all of them won't fit on the list here and that's why I think this school should find some money or be put downOther Review9y ago - Woodstock Elementary School
