3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm a student at this school and yes there are some not so great things about it but it's mostly the kids doing the bad stuff and the teachers do there best the accelerated program (which I am in) is great and the teachers there are also everybody needs to chill out there are just some bad seeds that make the school seem bad but underneath all that is a great school with awesome students and teachers.Student Review1y ago - South Girard School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a great school. The teachers are great as well as the administrators. It is clean, orderly, and safe. Students consistently rate it as one of their favorite schools...including my two sons. But because the school is located on the other side of town and use to be the historically black high school, it suffers from an unfair perception problem. It is not a student perception problem but rather a parent perception problem...most of who have never stepped foot in the school. These parents simply need to grow up, be honest, and examine their own suppressed racist views. Its disgusting how they treat the students being rude and mean. It's not right. Someone needs to make a huge change. Online this school is one of the worst schools in phenix city. 1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a parent who wishes my child to have an education focused primarily on academics. The average ACT score is well below average at this school, so as a concerned parent, I began doing some research. What I found was appalling! The students are very disrespectful and seems to tolerate bullying. If you like a circus environment with drama encouraged by teachers and administrators, then you will fit in. However, if you want a serious education, put your children in a local private school or Smith's Station. Constant distractions not conducive to learning and not much focus on safety.Other Review7y ago

"The public transportation in Phenix city needs improvement. You must have a car or be willing to pay for Uber if you live in Phenix City. Traffic is not bad and it is quick to get around from place to place. "
