1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school lacks leadership and professionalism. The principal and her staff of teachers are very poor examples of how a school should run. This is the only school that I have ever had problems with. Nothing gets resolved instead, they just "sweep it under the rug" and hopes it will go away. I see a lot of parents walking their children into the school and showing support whenever there is something going on at the school, however, the parents Are Not shown the same respect. Sadly, I moved my son from a great school just 5 miles away and I have regretted ever since. There are some good teachers there, but unfortunately, not enough. I do not recommend anyone sending their child or children here, unless it is the only choice you have. Maybe if the school board weren't so busy and actually sent some of their members to see how the school is performing, there would be less problems. but unfortunately, Montgomery County has one of the poorest school systems I have ever experienced. As I stated earlier, a great lack of leadership from both the school board and the school.Parent Review9y ago - Goodwyn Middle School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a student at Goodwyn middle and PLEASE do not send your student here.Academics:-We are unable to learn, and the administration blames it on us. The teachers continuously quit and so we are left with substitutes who have no clue about the subject. The teachers we do have don't teach, and they yell at us for not being aware of things we are not taught. We are then given videos that have no correlation to the subject matter. Later we are given tests where we have no clue what is on there, so most students fail, or resort to other students which makes them more stressed than they already are. If we get books, they are very outdated and falling apart, to the point where they are not even accurate anymore.Environment:-The environment is also awful. The classrooms are severely outdated, to the point where it is making kids sick. There are holes in the walls and paint is chipping off. The technology is outdated and/or does not work, they have a team of students who help people with technology and it is stressful. There are drawings on the walls and doors. In the bathroom, stalls are so short you can see over them, and students do. When you stand up, your entire head, and part of your torso, is above the stall. There is a bug infestation as we constantly find dead and alive bugs in the halls and the classroom. The air conditioning is broken, so it is either way too cold in the winter, or way too hot in the spring and summer months.Bullying:-Kids constantly bully others and nothing is done about it. Kids might get suspended if it gets violent but otherwise no effort is made. It has gotten to the point where if you have a different opinion, you get beaten up. Then everyone gets suspended, not just the bullies.Administration & Security:-Administration is awful, they yell at us and confiscate things that are not against the rules, like jackets. They threaten to suspend us because someone else is being disobedient. Security is also awful minus about 3 people. They pat us down, make us take our shoes and jackets off, sometimes they throw it around enough that it is damaged or broken. They confiscate anything that is open, personal care items, phones, markers, watches, headphones, airpods, etc. When we get them back they are lost, broken, damaged, or refused to be returned.Final Statements:All aspects of this school are awful. This is not a good place to send your child. So please, do not send your child to this school if you care about their well-being.Student Review1mo ago - Lee High School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHorrible school! Over the last five years (2011-2012) it has continually struggled academically. It even had one of the worst graduate rates in the state, 62%, and 67%. There is a lot of violence at the school including fights, gang activity, etc. The administration just went through a very public grade changing trial for 3 years. Honestly, Montgomery Public Schools is a bad school district. No wonder in a town of 200,000 people, there are 32 private schools. Very sad. As a graduate of this ONCE great place, it is an embarrassment to the Alumni.Teacher Review8y ago - Check out schools near 142 Devon Ct.
