5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageVery trying. Baker has great teachers, but they cannot mold the students properly because there's not proper support from the administration. Students are allowed to constantly push the boundaries and break the rules without consequences. These students are being lost and never being pushed to meet their full potential.Other Review6y ago - Bernice J Causey Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son had a terrible experience at this school. It was so bad in fact that we pulled him out to home school after one year. We found this school cared more about fundraising than their students. Their method to education is outdated. In kindergarten I watched my son's teacher scream in his face that he wasn't trying hard enough-to the point that he started crying. My son would wiggle in line because he was 5 years old and that is age appropriate, they would discipline him by forcing him to sit out of P.E! There was no guarantee that they would have recess and it was definitely not a priority. We liked some of the staff but overall we were completely unimpressed with the level of education. My son's teacher could care less about the progress he made or if he even mastered the work. My son hated going to school and would beg to not go. When my son attended there was very little parent involvement or opportunities to join the kids in the classroom or school. I'm so thankful we pulled him out to home school, moved out of state and now have him in an excellent school. It's the complete opposite of Taylor-White. The students are seen as individuals, specific issues are promptly addressed, physical exercise is a huge focus and if kids have learning differences the teachers will modify things to accommodate them with or without an IEP.Parent Review5y ago - Check out schools near 166 Alverson Rd S.
