6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhat you put into it, you get out of it, plus some. The academics are there if you want them. No, it's not super rigorous (except concert band), but they get my vote for encouraging life balance skills. I highly recommend joining Corey Hyman's band. It will shape your kid for the better, and WAY beyond music.Parent Review4y ago - Cherokee Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis was the worst four years of my life. If your child excels more in academic and artistic areas versus sports, PLEASE DO NOT SEND THEM HERE. I graduated in 2018 and I feel very unprepared in college. The only saving graces were the few teachers who made this school worth going to. Other than that, don't waste your time with this school. The students--and teachers-- WILL find something negative to gossip about about everyone. I'm so glad I do not attend this awful place anymore.Other Review4y ago - Check out schools near 2317 Mulberry St.

"not enough houses have fenced yards. some of the dogs bark a lot. there are not many sidewalks to take your dog for a walk, also very few parks where dogs are allowed. don't know of any true dog parks"

"Must drive everywhere. Most destinations are 40-60 miles away. There is no public transit, no ride share, a car is a must. "

"This city is unique because it is near a major lake known for fishing tournaments. Its not expensive to live in,but makes you feel like you're living in luxury "

"EXCELLENT NEIGHBORHOOD very quiet and peaceful. Short 2 min drive to the lake and a 5 min drive to stores and restaurants. Neighbors are all very friendly and welcoming. "

"I am retired so no commute. Huntsville is the closest city with decent paying jobs. There are no sidewalks in a large part of this city. The traffic on my street is so heavy, it is dangerous to even cross the street certain times of the day."

"The Hydroplane (boat) races are held on the lake in front of our house. They fence off the spectator section and we have to walk a half mile to an entrance to see exhibits, food trucks etc. We are old and it was too hot for us to walk that far. We did have a great spot in the front yard to see the races."

"There is a very nice and well maintained walking trail along the lake. There is also a small dog park. "

"I have been retired for years so therefore, no commute. There are no sidewalks on my street and many use our street as a speedy cut through, emphasis on speedy. "

"Traffic is a nightmare. Hwy 431 runs right through town and everyone wants to drive in the left hand lane. I miss the small town we used to have. "

"I live out of state, but my family lives right down the street. As a frequent visitor, I can say that Guntersville is a lovely city, filled with lots of outdoor recreational opportunities, as well as cultural offerings (ie The Whole Back Stage). Huntsville and Birmingham are each less than 45 minutes away. I'm actually looking into moving from Baton Rouge, LA to be closer to my family. "

"This street is one of the BEST in town. RIght next to The Whole Back Stage, walking distance to the museum and the library~! VERY safe area for children, pets. Plus, it is close to shopping in every direction and the walking trails. This house has a full basement that has another full bath as well. Sun room has a partial lake view. Very surprised it is appraised so low. The house next door is for sale so I hope this helps to sell it. "
