9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kids have been going to this school for a couple years now and I think I have enough know of the school to leave a feedback now. Beware of this school it has a overwhelming line of bullying complaints by others that have left the school and moved to better schools. Education could be better as my kids already learned things 2 years ago at their past school. If your looking for an academic strong school, this school is not up to par. Parents and teachers have their groups and make sure those kids get noticed first and get the special treatment. There is a lot of favoritism played at this school, which trickles down to the kids. They lack in extra-activities for kids to chose from. The school has a very big drug problem that gets swept under the rug and lack in discipline of students and accountability. It's mostly ran my family and not enough diversity of teachers that bring new ideas and teaching to the school. Some teacher's are lazy with their teaching and a lot of students spend class time in the gym's while sports teacher is dealing with their teams. Instead of doing their teaching in a class, their subject they were hired to teach. I strongly suggest another school if your looking to put your kids in this school.Parent Review6y ago - Kate D Smith Dar Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is my childs first year at D.A.R but so far I'm very pleased with the results. I was so worried about changing his school-I know now it was on of the best things that I have done for him. He has improved so much in his reading & we all know that is one of the key things we need in life!!Parent Review14y ago - Check out schools near 150 Debbie Dr.

"not enough houses have fenced yards. some of the dogs bark a lot. there are not many sidewalks to take your dog for a walk, also very few parks where dogs are allowed. don't know of any true dog parks"

"Must drive everywhere. Most destinations are 40-60 miles away. There is no public transit, no ride share, a car is a must. "

"EXCELLENT NEIGHBORHOOD very quiet and peaceful. Short 2 min drive to the lake and a 5 min drive to stores and restaurants. Neighbors are all very friendly and welcoming. "

"I am retired so no commute. Huntsville is the closest city with decent paying jobs. There are no sidewalks in a large part of this city. The traffic on my street is so heavy, it is dangerous to even cross the street certain times of the day."

"The Hydroplane (boat) races are held on the lake in front of our house. They fence off the spectator section and we have to walk a half mile to an entrance to see exhibits, food trucks etc. We are old and it was too hot for us to walk that far. We did have a great spot in the front yard to see the races."

"There is a very nice and well maintained walking trail along the lake. There is also a small dog park. "

"I have been retired for years so therefore, no commute. There are no sidewalks on my street and many use our street as a speedy cut through, emphasis on speedy. "

"Traffic is a nightmare. Hwy 431 runs right through town and everyone wants to drive in the left hand lane. I miss the small town we used to have. "

"I live out of state, but my family lives right down the street. As a frequent visitor, I can say that Guntersville is a lovely city, filled with lots of outdoor recreational opportunities, as well as cultural offerings (ie The Whole Back Stage). Huntsville and Birmingham are each less than 45 minutes away. I'm actually looking into moving from Baton Rouge, LA to be closer to my family. "

"This street is one of the BEST in town. RIght next to The Whole Back Stage, walking distance to the museum and the library~! VERY safe area for children, pets. Plus, it is close to shopping in every direction and the walking trails. This house has a full basement that has another full bath as well. Sun room has a partial lake view. Very surprised it is appraised so low. The house next door is for sale so I hope this helps to sell it. "
