4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOk so Clay Chalkville Middle is a great and bad school. The good thing is they have some good teachers but not all of them but it's alot of new teachers this year . But the bad thing is the food is nasty and the 6th grade and 7th grade principals are extra and they do alot they got rats at the school and roaches and they all ways got fights happending. Also the head principal is extra too they all do too much !Student Review1y ago - Chalkville Elementary School

"The first time I drove to this neighborhood, I was a little worried until I was actually in the neighborhood. The outskirts don’t seem the best, but this area is so cute. All of our neighbors are friendly and everyone keeps their houses/landscaping up to par. A lot of families live here, and everyone seems to have a dog (which I adore). It’s fairly calm. I always feel safe. We’re so close to downtown; Restaurants, stores and shops are endless and easily accessible. My biggest and only complaint would be the roads. They need some major TLC, but if you’ve ever lived in Birmingham, you’d probably already expect that. Commuting to work in Vestavia normally takes between 16-22 minutes. Not terrible at all. Overall, can’t recommend this area enough!!"
