7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am currently a student at Hoover and I love it so much!! The teachers are awesome and you can tell that they love teaching, AND the staff is awesome! As a student taking all AP, I still have time to participate in extracurriculars, as they have a ton of sports and clubs to participate in. I would definitely send my future kids here!!Student Review2y ago - Green Valley Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average6th grade has been terrible. Terrible communication with teachers and faculty. They do not respect 5”1 plans. The lunch fees are high and you will never know how much each item costs. Bullying is rampant and the teachers are unsupportive. 5 principals in 4 years … that says it all.Parent Review9mo ago - Check out schools near 3421 Portsmouth Dr.

"The first time I drove to this neighborhood, I was a little worried until I was actually in the neighborhood. The outskirts don’t seem the best, but this area is so cute. All of our neighbors are friendly and everyone keeps their houses/landscaping up to par. A lot of families live here, and everyone seems to have a dog (which I adore). It’s fairly calm. I always feel safe. We’re so close to downtown; Restaurants, stores and shops are endless and easily accessible. My biggest and only complaint would be the roads. They need some major TLC, but if you’ve ever lived in Birmingham, you’d probably already expect that. Commuting to work in Vestavia normally takes between 16-22 minutes. Not terrible at all. Overall, can’t recommend this area enough!!"
