9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageEdgewood Elementary School has wonderful teachers and staff! They have high expectations academically and meet each student academic and emotional needs. I highly recommend this school.Parent Review1y ago - Homewood High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe leadership at the school and in the district lacks structure and any true concern for the students. The assistant administrator for the freshman is a bully and the principal hides in the office. I have had nothing but bad experiences with the teachers and adminsitrators there. I will say that the harassment is not based in color and gender. It's more about class and social status. For everything my kid loves about this school I can name 5 that I absolutely hate.Parent Review8y ago - Homewood Middle School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI teach in another school system, but live in Homewood and send my kids to HMS. It's a terrific school with a great combination of academic rigor and extracurricular choice. I'm impressed with the quality of instruction and excited about the push to even higher standards. Kudos!Parent Review13y ago - Check out schools near 1611 Ridge Rd.

"The first time I drove to this neighborhood, I was a little worried until I was actually in the neighborhood. The outskirts don’t seem the best, but this area is so cute. All of our neighbors are friendly and everyone keeps their houses/landscaping up to par. A lot of families live here, and everyone seems to have a dog (which I adore). It’s fairly calm. I always feel safe. We’re so close to downtown; Restaurants, stores and shops are endless and easily accessible. My biggest and only complaint would be the roads. They need some major TLC, but if you’ve ever lived in Birmingham, you’d probably already expect that. Commuting to work in Vestavia normally takes between 16-22 minutes. Not terrible at all. Overall, can’t recommend this area enough!!"
