"Great 4th of July celebrations; spring folk festival; spring king fishing tournament and late summer salmon derby; Friday art gallery walks; after Thanksgiving we have a Gallery Walk to kick off the holiday season; Duck Derby spring event sponsored by Rotary Club; winter down hill and cross country skiing; lots of hiking trails; forest service cabins for rent; in-door and outdoor city league sports."

"Living in Douglas makes using the public bus very easy and preferable over driving to downtown. Capital transit is great in my area and buses run every 30 minutes "

"Juneau has terrible dog owners and it is not a good place for dogs. limited areas and everyone flocks to them without leashes. Great place if you are single or a couple without animals and love to hike."

"From my door to my desk at work is about 20 minutes. Light traffic is typical on the way to work. Our version of traffic is when you have to check your blind spots for other cars. "
