Well, the education they got in the Service "seminar school" was awesome. 3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am so thankful that my daughter will not be attending Hanshew next year. Last year (22-23) was horrifying. I was appalled at the lack of education she got in her classes. She had two long-term subs in core subjects, God bless them for stepping in, but they did not provide quality learning. I feel as if we had to step in and help keep our daughter up to grade level. In talking with other parents, we were surprised by how many long-term subs there were at this school. It's apparent that they struggle at recruiting and maintaining staff here. Another red flag with this school has got to be the constant fights, bullying, and drugs. It felt like our daughter told us one horrifying story after another, week after week. Do not send your kid here!Parent Review9mo ago

"I’m Retired so don’t commute. But getting anywhere in Anchorage is just an easy 20 min drive. If you’re from any major US city you will laugh when you hear locals complaining about the “traffic” at the 3 major intersections. "

"School events organized by the great PTA members. Our schools don’t get enough funding to function properly but our PTA does a lot of fundraising to help the teachers and students. "

"Dogs are seen a lot around the neighborhood with owners walking them. All seem friendly and there are lots of trails to take them on"

"We have been living in the neighborhood since 2006. Love the wildlife, love the views and neighbors are very friendly/likable. Not the best place for dogs, neighbors tend to hate barking."
