10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am on this website researching schools because we are relocating to another state. My child has attended McA for 4 years and I am heartbroken he will not get to attend the last 2 at this school. It is like a family - teachers and staff are committed to help the kids learn to be good people and give them skills for life, not only academics. We will miss this school family terribly.Parent Review1y ago24 Reviews - Lake Dallas Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience with this district left me with serious concerns about student safety, accountability, and transparency. As a child, concerns were raised about a school employee who had access to students. My family reported those concerns and submitted a written request regarding this employee, but we did not feel that our concerns were taken seriously.Years later, after learning that numerous former students from multiple states had come forward with similar allegations involving the same individual, I began seeking answers about how complaints were handled. I submitted public records requests asking for investigative records, disciplinary records, and internal communications related to this employee. The district informed me that no such records existed. I was also told that the district's email servers had been decommissioned in 2021. When I requested documentation regarding the decommissioning and destruction of those records, I was informed that no certificates of destruction, retention logs, vendor records, chain-of-custody documentation, or similar records could be located. As someone seeking answers, I found this extremely troubling. The absence of records made it impossible to determine how concerns were addressed, what discussions may have taken place, or whether proper procedures were followed.Parents trust schools to protect children and to maintain transparency when concerns are raised. When records that could help explain past decisions are unavailable, it undermines public confidence and makes accountability difficult. My hope is that future families never have to spend years searching for answers only to be told that the records no longer exist. Every child deserves a safe learning environment, and every parent deserves confidence that concerns will be taken seriously and preserved appropriately.Other Review1mo ago9 Reviews - Shady Shores Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAll 3 of my kids have gone to Heritage since kindergarten (2017) and are extremely prepared for middle school. I’ve heard from middle school teachers that they know which kids are from Heritage (in a positive way) due to their preparation and behavior. In addition to being prepared, my kids loved most of their teachers and made friends. The PTA provides ample opportunity to volunteer & join a community as well as engage the students in fun activities or educational programs. Heritage has an outdoor garden that is being utilized more recently with the kids which is different than any other campus. It’s a great space for parents to eat lunch with their kids too. Have my kids gotten along with every teacher all the time? No. Are there some disagreements with administration? Yes. Do they run into “mean kid” issues? Absolutely. It’s life. I teach my kids both emotionally resiliency and how to be part of the solution through engagement and volunteering at school . I strongly encourage other parents to advocate appropriately for their kids and utilize the counselors more with issues affecting student learning. Life is hard, teaching kids of varying backgrounds is hard, being a parent is hard - this is the time for growth to prepare for life. Heritage did a great job and as a parent, I provided the necessary support for ultimate success. Their job is not to parent my kids, I take credit for that.Parent Review8mo ago14 Reviews - Highland Village Elementary School
