South really underwhelmed me. The school doesn't communicate at all with the parents. The most you'll get is a monthly newsletter. Make sure to not misplace the newsletter, because that is the only type of information you'll be getting. At the school my children attended before South we received a lot of communication. E-mails, text messages, phone calls, newsletters, facebook page updates, district website updates, etc. They made sure that you knew when school was going to be delayed or closed. At South you had better make friends with the other parents because that is really the only way you'll know. I honestly do not understand how in this day and age they can't send a mass text message or e-mail to parents to let them know what is going on. There are some things that I did really like about South. I love that the children receive recess daily. Small children need a break from being expected to sit still all day. Good for you, South for realizing that children need to get the wiggles out!If the communication issue was resolved, this school would definitely deserve a "good" star rating.

This staff works extremely hard to help students. Staff go above and beyond to ensure all students have all that they need. For students who are struggling they have a tutoring program. For students who excel they have an associates pathway. This school is family oriented and they go above and beyond to take time to listen to their families and lend a helping hand. The staff works well together to make a great school experience for students. This is my 31st year in education and my first year in Caswell County. I am proud to be a part of this team.

The school has a rich history of education and it values every child. The teachers truly care. Ultimately it comes down to your child and the effort they put into study. There needs to be engagement outside the curriculum. This school can help instill curiosity, self-drive, and resilience.
