7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis high school is very disappointing. The administrators care more about their high salaries than the students. Many teachers are often on their phones or absent. Despite parents’ complaints, nothing has been done. Students deserve better.Parent Review4mo ago9 Reviews - Dutch Fork Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHORRIBLE!. school ceiling started leaking in the cafeteria because instead of worrying about fixing the piping and water in the building they decided to spend money on DOOR ALARMS. which was a complete waste of money considering the fact that the doors would beep nonstop to the point where we had to stop using them. they also invested in putting more cameras in the hallways instead of fixing the toilets that sometimes over flow and stop working!!!Student Review10mo ago7 Reviews - Irmo Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is an absolute nightmare. It feels like a dark cloud hangs over every corner, and no one seems to care about the torment I go through each day. The teachers and staff turn a blind eye to the bullying that suffocates my existence. It's heart-wrenching to be sitting in the guidance counselor's room, tears streaming down my cheeks, as I desperately beg for someone to do something, anything, about the cruelty I endure. But all they tell me is to 'ignore' the pain and 'be the bigger person.' How can I be expected to carry this burden alone? I've been strong for so long, trying to be the bigger person, swallowing my tears and fears, but the torment never stops. It feels like I'm drowning in a sea of heartlessness and indifference. To make matters worse, the teachers play favorites, glorifying those who disrupt classes, act out, or are popular, while the rest of us are left feeling invisible and insignificant. It's soul-crushing to see how these so-called educators value loudness over empathy, disruption over understanding, and popularity over genuine kindness.Nothing seems to matter to them unless it impacts the school's precious reputation. They turn a blind eye to the horrors of bullying until it's too late – when violence, harassment, and threats loom over the school. It's sickening to realize that our pain only matters when it threatens their image. This school, this place that should nurture and protect us, has become a battleground of pain and suffering. It feels like I'm trapped in a nightmarish world where I'm constantly belittled, dehumanized, and broken.I dream of a place where compassion and empathy reign, where students are cherished for who they are, and their dreams are supported, not crushed. I long for a sanctuary where my cries for help are heard, and my pain is acknowledged. But as of now, this school is nothing more than a heartless, gut-wrenching nightmare, and it's simply not right.Student Review2y ago13 Reviews - Crossroads Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMore schools need to be able to have reviews given by parents. I would never recommend this school it's fairly a new school and the teachers do not know how to handle a child with severe adhd. When I say do not have your child attend this chool I would definitely not recommend it. All they are worried about is disciplining a child who has a severe learning disability instead of helping them understand material. Punishing a child constantly when they do not know how to learn the material is not the way to go when you're handling a child that has a severe learning disability. More teachers need to know how to deal with children who have ADHD if they don't know how to teach children with that disability they should not be teaching children with itParent Review8mo ago12 Reviews - Harbison West Elementary School

"I’ve never had any issues for five years staying here. All of the neighbors are friendly and everyone know each other. The most part I like about being in this neighborhood is having Lights during the storm while everyone else lights are out. I don’t have to worry about break-ins. I love how quiet it is the only thing I don’t like about it is when the loud cars are driving up and down the road."

"It was once a very vibrant area (2 wonderful malls/major grocery store Kroger/nice well known restaurants until 24 yrs ago. The city and this zipcode business owners/home owners migrated to 29212 in 1989 with new shopping centers/a very large mall/ many on and around Harbison Blvd., building continuously near Lake Murray in 29212; their schools are #1 one of best in S.C., whereas, 29210 has inner city schools/ever closing restaurants/4 strip clubs/closed Outlet Center. One restaurant, Shoney's closed/re-opened for 1/2 day buffets/new cooking venture was to take open shortly backed out of the deal. Crime is very much of a serious nature with gang shootings along Broad River Road and Bush River Road. Too many cheap run down hotels are used by strip clubs dancers and transients with a number of illegal immigrants working in restaurants can't speak English living not only in run down hotels but several in small apartment by the clubs; a church moved across the street after KMart shut down; Three large sub-divisions became filled with crack users and prostitution ruining them. Lately, there are drive by shootings on Broad River Road seemed to settle down for a while. Those in apartments off Broad River and half way down Atlantic Drive experience lots of burglaries/car jackings/sun roofs stolen off cars even in gated communities. One apartment complex had their gates destroyed so many times, they left gates down with little protection for single women. Owners of apartment "homes" small/larger foreclosed/changed management companies/ owners. Houses foreclosed and still are on and off Atlantic. Broad River Township at the end of Atlantic Dr are still foreclosing their condos still on the river. The Bluff houses next to Broad River Twp behind their gate fed up with crime and nothing worth staying still foreclosing. Food Lion Grocery Store's unpopular. Lots 44/45: a house with constant renting has pool next to it still mosquito infested. There's many sex offenders in area."
