My son is nonverbal. The school has created him to be someone he is not. Every other day he’s done things he’s never ever done at home. At first they OFFERED to allow us to bring groceries for my son to eat lunch every day (they have a kitchen in the classroom) but the first time my child ran out of food without them informing me.. & I asked to be informed before him running out next time. They told me it’s a special privilege for him to be prepared microwaved meals & I needed to bring him food every day. Even though the classroom has a kitchen. You speak with the higher ups in the school.. nothing gets done. It’s honestly sad. They place him in timeout even though he doesn’t have the mental capacity to understand why he’s being placed in timeout. 5 minutes per timeout. I would not recommend sending your disabled child to this school. They have asked what to do to get my child to stop “squealing”.. he’s nonverbal that’s how he communicates. It’s just sickening.

"There is no leash law. So you may have encounters with unleashed dogs. The city of Lumberton, not the county, would be a safer place to walk with your dog leashed."

"You may wake up to deer standing in your back yard... or other wildlife that is also common in the area... Pretty much everyone in the area hunts so the crime rate is pretty low for break ins... If your a little old fashioned... sort of a redneck you will love this area... Pleasant neighbors... laid back."
