My son attends Welch and so far the teachers have been very professional and compassionate to their students!! As long as he enjoys school he will learn.

Getting transcripts from this school is time-consuming if your transcripts are dated before 1996. I called the McDowell County BoE and spoke to Kim. She was on 3 March 2026. She promised to contact the same day. I did not hear anything that day. I called back the next day and was told Kim was not in the office today. I asked whether calling the high school would help, since my order was placed through Parchment on 20 February 2026. I called the school and was told that the counselor who handles that is not in the office. When I asked to speak to the principal, I was told that the counselor who handles that is in the principal’s office and that, before 1996, she did not have access to those records. I called the BoE again and asked to speak to the superintendent. I was tired of getting passed off and people not owning a simple request that was over a week old. If you need anything from them, expect a long way and a lot of frustration.
