6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a current 8th grader and since i am the most recent review you should believe me the most. Okay so yes previously the school had a very bad reputation and it still does but now things are different. There aren't as many fights as there used to be. Fights between students actually don't happen often. Most teachers really do care about their students and try to guide them into liking learning. The staff is super supportive. If your kid is a kid who doesn't like to involve them self into drama like me they will have a great time. There are kids who like to act up and use foul language but that is not something that is encouraged. Don't hold back this school is turning into one of the best on in the Area.Parent Review5y ago7 Reviews - York Early College Academy

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageVery challenging considering you have to do all you regents by 10th grade and you are only taking college classes after so you graduate and there is a very large lack of clucbs all of the extra chars are sports clubs or something really small only aimed at really smart kids or a certen niche but all of these cons dont outweigh the pros skipping two years of college is amazing.Other Review3y ago8 Reviews - Jamaica Children's School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOmniLearn specialists have been co-teaching Hands on STEM labs with the Science Cluster teacher at PS 312 for the past 2 years. What a joyful and inspirational experience it has been! The children don lab coats and goggles and jump enthusiastically into the projects and experiments in the lab. The lab sequence is coordinated with the teachers and administrators so the connections in class are seamless and interdisciplinary. The atmosphere in the school is welcoming and dedicated to bringing rigorous STEM instruction to their students. We are grateful for the past 2 years and look forward to a continuing partnership!Other Review11mo ago11 Reviews - Emerson School (The)

"I’ve live in the area for 27 years. The area is becoming more gentrified which I love. They are building more apartment building buildings, I’ll say in 10 more years this area will be unrecognizable "

"I work and live in Jamaica. A mixed community with mostly friendly faces. But certain areas I wouldn’t walk alone at night. Lots of stores around, so it’s very convenient for the people living here. Such as supermarkets, pharmacy, Deli and most importantly one of the biggest transit hub Jamaica train stations will literally take you anywhere. "

"Great access to public transportation now my problem is I drive and when come home from work there's never parking because people put cones in front of their houses like the streets belong to them. Don't think is fair to anyone. You come home from work late and the only spots available have cones not fair. City needs to do something about the cones in front of houses. Other neighborhoods don't do this..."

"Very effective. Quick and a lot of transportation nearby. Right out my house I can take four buses and I live so close to jfk and train station very fast of transportation I would say if that’s something you’re looking at. I take 2 trains to work and one bus and it’s so quick less than thirty minutes to get there. "
