    • Trulia User
"I feel safe walking in this neighborhood. Variety of ages and lots of dog owners so there are people out for extended hours. Close to Metro stop, Trader Joe’s and Harris Teeter so you don’t need a car most of the time."
    • Sandy I.
"The Old Town neighborhood is charming, historical and beautiful. Perfect location between the Potomac River, the metro, Old town and del ray. "
    • Clarairurita
"close to everything, very diverse and people are very friendly. also you can walk to king street and have drinks "
    • Barry.j.lerner
"Lots of park space for dogs, plus places fo swim. Most restaurants with outdoor search accept dogs!!!!!!!!!!"

"The neighborhood is quiet and safe. There are many playgrounds many at the neighborhood schools. The area is walkable with children. You can even walk to school. the rec center is within a few block as well."

"We have block party's 1-2 times per year. Most of the neighbors participate in Halloween. You don't need a car here. The community center is a block away and is a great place, especially for kids. "
    • Meganow
"I love having my dog in this area. It is a very dog friendly neighborhood and businesses are also dog friendly. It’s been a great place to live."
    • Jenhoff01
"I have lives in this neighborhood for 12 years and love it. You do not need a car if you metro or bus to work. Everything one needs is within walking distance to include a vet, multiple grocery stores, and zip car"
    • JamilaJ
"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for 3 years. It’s very conveniently located just blocks to Metro and Old Town with great shopping, movies and local bars & restaurants. "
    • Shannon E.
"Easy walk to metro and drive downtown is not bad outside of rush hour. Plenty of bus stops and bike racks. "
    • Christopher S.
"VA to MD is a 20-30 minute venture but VA to DC or DC / MD to VA is probably an hour to two hour traffic filled nightmare. Vice versa going from VA to MD in the afternoon where the traffic pattern reverses. So if you work in MD and live in VA you can commute no issue. Working in DC and living elsewhere would be problematic. as would be working in MD and commuting anywhere."
    • Ltmngr
"The community is safe, quiet and a wonderful neighborhood to walk and run down the walking paths. So close to all the restaurants and bars King street has to offer. "
    • Jamille T.
"I've lived in this neighborhood most of my life. The people here are cool for the most part. Mostly quiet not too noisy. "
    • Maureen T.
"the office park is a ghost town and the metro needs an overpass connecting its northern tip to Mt Vernon ave/delray. but great hood overall!"
    • Jeff
"The express bus on Washington is faster than the metro on most days. It’s nice to have both options depending on traffic/metro delays. "
    • Tgennarelli
"Great school-Jefferson Houston. Very convenient living close to grocery stores, library, school, and restaurants!"
    • Tgennarelli
"I have lived in this neighborhood for 8 years. It is very walkable. It has a great public school nearby, Jefferson Houston, and is close to King St, the water, and grocery stores. "
    • Carlysalazar
"Our apartment building hosts events. Local restaurants always have familiar faces. A farmer's market occurs every Saturday. "
    • Joey T.
"Very dog friendly -- several dog parks, and also dog friendly restaurants."
    • Joey T.
"I commute by driving mostly, sometimes by metro. I also walk to most places."
    • Joey T.
"A lot of great restaurants, small neighborhood feel and vibe."
    • Joey T.
"It's an extremely safe neighborhood with lots of good schools in the area."

    • Marie B.
"It is close to everything, but still feels like you are in the suburbs! You have many travel options. People are friendly and helpful."
    • Marie B.
"Lots of traffic, so you need to be careful with little children crossing roads. A lot of different people coming to and from Maryland and DC! Just need to be aware of surroundings."
    • Mia M.
"I see dogs around my house, which means that there are a lot of dogs in my neighborhood."
    • Mia M.
"The metro works good on weekdays for going to work, and for school."
    • Mia M.
"There are groceries, markets, metro, buses, stores, restaurants, and a playground for kids."
    • Maggie W.
"There are several bike/walking trails that make it easy to walk a dog. There are limited dog poop bag trash cans and bags available in the area."
    • Maggie W.
"Use of the Braddock Road metro is a great way to commute to the neighborhood. It is also a very easy to commute in the neighborhood via bicycle and walking. Commuting in a car can be a little slow during rush hours during the weekdays, and heavy foot traffic makes it important to watch for pedestrians."
    • Maggie W.
"It is right off the Potomac Yard Trail, which provides access to many parks, shopping, and food. There are several restaurants within 1 block of this metro stop. The yellow line provides direct and easy access to downtown DC."
    • Maggie W.
"In the evenings there is limited lighting at the station. Overall it feels very safe."
    • Maureen T.
"zento sushi is the best cheap sushi in the country, the Charles Houston rec center is a treasure and commuting to any neighborhood in dc is actually faster from here than it is from most neighborhoods in dc. otherwise this hood can be a bit ...blah. but if you've got little kids that's almost an advantage."
