8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere is a strong parent /teacher community involvement in this school. The principal and assistant principal are well engaged with what’s going on. The PTA board is very active and host many events throughout year. I’m also very happy that my daughters are eager to go to school, take their learning curriculums seriously. Most importantly, this school values respectful and safe behavior. Like my daughter says “I will have a great day, the EAGLE WAY!” I use that for my work mantra too.Parent Review7mo ago7 Reviews - Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt is an education mill. So many students. Such a high students to teacher ratio. They fight providing students the services they need and provide only the services they want to provide. Communication is one way - AT you. It is not a dialogue. Teachers and administration don’t feel compelled to reply to emails. If you don’t have the time or don’t care to read the contents sent out in a text link each week too bad so sad. Your student could miss out on a once in a lifetime after school event. The front office staff, however, is exceptional.Parent Review1y ago4 Reviews - Oak Lawn Community High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHorrible, Transferred Jan of 23', I have a ton of medical issues which was heavily disregarded, A parent would call and it'd show up as an "Unexcused Absences" even if it was medically related. the school disregarded a doctors note stating I wasn't able to attend in person and to accommodate working from home, They said the letter was 'too short" and said they'd hold a meeting regarding the medical issue and it never happened, then they said they couldn't accommodate my needs to work from home because i was in what they call Achieve using an online program, mind you they made me attend in person school for an ONLINE program. I wasn't able to get accommodated because they couldn't allow me to do my work from home which makes 0 sense if its an online program, literally the words from the counselor was "I don't know how to accommodate this" and because of my medical condition i kept missing school and they have the program IP locked, so ultmately they failed me because they didnt want to unlock it from IP, and its stupid because i used that online program and did an entire class in summer break (before summer school) and somehow its not possible to allow me to work from home medically. Related to the transfer, every 504 meeting ive had regarding my grades, in every paperwork it kept saying "Student was failing due to not being well adjusted to OLCHS from the other school" and they cant take the blame themselves for failing their students. even as a senior it said that and by that time i had been there for 2 whole years. the school has 1 elevator, it sounds like its breaking by the minute, I have a medical condition that effects my walking/stair use and they literally told me "Use a wheelchair" or "Just push thru it" as if it was temporary, This school just wants their money and has 0 regard for their students and happily give out detentions for the smallest of things and put you on social suspension or ISS. one day the school had to throw ISS in the PAC due to how many they've given out. this school has 0 good intentions and will make any excuse for themselves not to get blamed, I wish my parents sued for not accommodating me Medically, If you can, don't go here ever.Student Review1y ago9 Reviews - Check out schools near W.

"You do see people walking there dogs but many are not respectful of people walking that may not like dogs. Some individuals have allergic reactions to cats & dogs. The area needs more areas that don't accept animals. Not everyone is an animal lover."
