my kids go there and now some of them are moving on to the middle school but i have more moving up into hawthorne. everyone cares there but are furm and fair. all my kids love everything about it there. they realy care about the kids.

When I registered my daughter back when she was in the 8th grade. My daughter and I was walking down the hallway together. When a teacher hollered at my daughter and told her to walk and not run in the hallways. I stopped and I hollered back at that teacher and told her my daughter is walking. She is walking right here next to me. I told that teacher she needs to check her facts before accusing someone of something.

A lot of kids get lost in the shuffle. Discipline can be very uneven from one student to the next for the same incident. Another review noted that some took care of their own - absolutely right. Kids with certain pedigrees are treated differently by teachers and administrators. FFA at Hart is wonderful - lots of great programs there and good leadership there too.Sports programs are pretty good, but kids don't seem to want to go out for sports anymore. Some success in football, basketball, track, cross country and wrestling (I'm sure there are more). Mexico spends a lot on the athletic facilities and coaches.The choir program is doing good, the director has been there a number of years. The Dixie Grays aren't the Dixie Grays anymore - they didn't bother to ask for alumni input. The band has definitely seen better days.There are a lot of "clicks" in the school - which is the main reason for my lost in the shuffle comment earlier. Bullying happens, but not a lot is done. The carousel of new teachers here and around Mexico is very unfortunate, and I feel it affects the students.There are lots of wonderful, caring staff at MHS, but there's so much turnover, it makes you wonder why.
