I was bullied constantly and teachers ignored it. We had classes devoted to standardized tests to meet the requirements of the state. I was a lost cause to this school, a B-C student. when I left this place I became a straight A student. The teachers teach their own family and play favorites. The dressed is only enforced on those who were not friends of the kids related to the teachers. No one knew what the hell they were doing at that school. Kids would escape class to chill in the library. Classes would be canceled but the students wouldn't be assigned a new room to go to so they scattered. fights happened almost daily. kids got high in the bathroom. For how small the school was it lacked structure. If you wanted to join a sports team or performing arts late in your school career you would ALWAYS be in the background. The same people getting leading roles in middle school productions were getting leading rolls in high school productions. The school counselor there is of no help. When I was forced to go to her because I had no friends she said maybe I wasn't trying hard enough to make them (I knew every person in that school since elementary school). Basically, I was ecstatic my senior year when I was two weeks in and my mother enrolled me into a cyber school because Mahanoy Area had made me depressed and anorexic. I became an A student when I left and am now on my way to a master's degree. If I never left that place, I would never be where I am today. The only person in that whole school who knows what they are doing is Mr. Tobin, the high school history teacher. He's a good teacher and didn't stand for bulling.
